KurtGodel77 Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Here are some things we can say when the Bills next lose. Feel free to add anything to this thread, especially if it's humorous. "Time expired before the Bills had scored enough points to win." "The Bills brought an exciting, dominant team to the field. Squeezing all that excellent play into just 60 minutes of gametime was like squeezing Oprah into a size 2 dress. It just couldn't be done. This resulted in a final score which showed only the beginning of their domination. While the final score reflected only a fraction of what the Bills are capable of, it fully reflected the maximum extent of the other team's possible achievement, resulting in the other team actually scoring more points than the Bills during the game's first 60 minutes. Despite the other team's fast start, it is clear the Bills were more dominant and successful overall." "The most crucial stretches of the game were early in the first quarter, halfway through the second quarter, and the end of the fourth quarter. The Bills outscored the other team 13-0 during those stretches; displaying their hallmark dominance when things really mattered. While the other team was the lucky beneficiary of statistically anomolous events--thereby attaining a final score slightly higher than that of the Bills--it is clear the Bills were the better team. They proved that by outscoring the other team 13-0 in those crucial stretches." "The Bills overcame the hardship of four interceptions and a lost fumble to attain a score just 14 points lower than that of the Ravens. A team with five turnovers going against it has no business staying within 14 points of its opponents. The Bills did, and that shows they were the real victors this Sunday."
Astrobot Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 "The Bills tied the Ravens without Deion Sanders today. Unfortunately, Deion's points had to be added to the Ravens' score because Deion belongs to the Ravens."
BenchBledsoe Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 And as many are fond of saying "Drew would be much better if his receivers caught the ball for him once and his O-line protected him better, and if TH blocked for him, and if the gameplan suited him better, and if the play calling was better, and if the fans supported him, and if the running game worked better, and he had a better tight end, and if those darned balls weren't tipped, and if it wasn't so windy at the Ralph, and if the opponents didn't have such gosh darn great defenses, and he's such a stand up family man he should continue as the starter, and the WRs don't make enough plays for him, and he's put up big numbers in the past, and New England made the Superbowl once with him as their starter, and he throws a pretty deep ball, and he was the top pick in the draft, so he must be super duper good, and. . . You guys get the picture? It is comical, when you think about it, how may excuses some fans have made for that hog.

KurtGodel77 Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 Though the clock expired at a point in the game when the Bills happened to be behind, the fact remains they were dominant throughout.
Greg de'Ville Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 ...with homage to the late John McKay: "When asked about the Bills' execution in today's 20-6 loss to the Ravens, Bills diehard Greg de'Ville replied, 'I'm all for it.'"
