Wacka Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 RIP...actress, wife of Ernie Kovacs. A well-known personality of the early days of TV. http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/ny...0,6043250.story She was also the Muriel Cigar woman on commercials in the early-mid 60s. I think she started doing them on her husband's show. She along with Kovacs , and Jack Lemmon or Frank Sinatra were in the Nairobi Trio skits on his show.
stuckincincy Posted October 17, 2008 Author Posted October 17, 2008 A co worker just told me that he read that Levi Stubbs, lead singer of the Four Tops, also passed away today. RIP...I've an old cassette of him and the Four Tops singing a cappella numbers.
Buftex Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 RIP...I've an old cassette of him and the Four Tops singing a cappella numbers. I love the Four Tops. If you are adept at such things, do yourself a favor, and download a song called "Levi Stubbs' Tears" by Billy Bragg. It would be very fitting today...a heartfelt tribute to Stubbs, while he was still alive.
Buftex Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I will add this Bragg, Levi Stubbs tribute... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejWqSi1OucA
