Peter
Supposedly, it is a done deal and involves at least one first round pick. The former "Dillon" Panther goes back to Texas.
Maguire's Beer
Can Roy Williams play QB or CB? Because, you know, that's sort of what that team really needs right now.

They need a wr pretty badly as well. After Owens who's what 34 they have Crayton Sam Hurd and Miles Austin.

stuckincincy
ESPN Link Trades are so rare these days - I read an article that said in the last 12 years, the average number after season start was...one per year.
Bill from NYC
2nd round in '09 and 2nd round in 2010 per ESPN news. Great trade for the Lions imo.
kota
Jerry Jones can have him. Roy will be a free agent after this year and will get Larry Fitzgerald type money. The Cowboys will be in cap jail very soon. Jerry is trying to buy a superbowl this year due to his new stadium coming out and the rediculous seat reserves people have to buy. The cowboys are a bunch of misfits. They have all the talent in the world but no glue to keep them together.
Bill from NYC
OMG....Sirius just said that Dallas gave up a 1st, 3rd and a 6th in 09 for Williams and a 7th. They got freaking robbed!

buffaloboyinATL
2nd round in '09 and 2nd round in 2010 per ESPN news. WOW, I may stand corrected. The ESPN news crawl appears to be wrong Bill from NYC is right: Adam Schefter Cowboys acquire WR Williams from Detroit Posted: October 14th, 2008 | Adam Schefter | Tags: Dallas Cowboys, Roy Williams The Lions have traded WR Roy Williams to the Cowboys for a first, third and sixth round pick. The Cowboys also receive a seventh-round pick from the Lions in 2009. That is a high price to pay.
stuckincincy
OMG....Sirius just said that Dallas gave up a 1st, 3rd and a 6th in 09 for Williams and a 7th. They got freaking robbed! Cheap at the price, compared to signing 1st round picks. And who knows what will take place when the CBA is voided? Which the players want. They know that they are in line for bigger bucks, what with cities financially hostage to pay off taxpayer funded stadiums for the betterment of a private enterprise. Could be that Jerry decided that this is the last year to make a splash, even with Romo and other injuries. I think that's what the Jets did with Favre - a last grab before it all goes into the toilet.
