Steely Dan
Linkage They argue that it will be difficult to find a viable vein on his blubbery body. I'm against the death penalty but only because it has killed innocent people and is used in a very racist way. I do however think that people like this guy, who appears to be very guilty, should be given a slow painful death. I say starve the bastard to death. buckeyemike
This has been a big story here. Apparently, he hasn't always been this big. Cooey is 5'7" (one inch shorter than I am) and 267 pounds (approx. 50 lbs. heavier than me). I've given blood as a fat man; there should be no question that they could find a vein to stick in the needle. But I voted to put the fat@$$ on a diet, for purposes of slimming him down. He's going to be executed soon anyway, so what difference does it make?
ExiledInIllinois
BlackJackKetchum Ketchum was executed by hanging in Clayton, New Mexico Territory, on April 26, 1901. The rope was too long, and Ketchum had gained a significant amount of weight during his time in jail. Additionally nobody in Clayton had any experience in hanging people. Because of these factors Ketchum was decapitated when he dropped through the trap door.

VOR
They should start looking for a vein now. There are a couple big ones in the neck.
Bmwolf21
LINK Cooey and a then-17-year-old accomplice were convicted of the brutal murders of Wendy Offredo and Dawn McCreery, students at the University of Akron. The men had been tossing concrete slabs onto Interstate 77, and one of them struck Offredo's car. Pretending to rescue the women, Cooey and Clinton Dickens took them to a remote field, according to prosecutors. There, the students were subjected to 3½ hours of rape, torture, stabbings and fatal bludgeonings. Cooey had carved an "X" into the stomachs of both women, prosecutors said. Each man blamed the other for delivering the fatal blows, but both were convicted of murder. Dickens received a life sentence because of his age. Not only should he be executed, he should be killed in the exact same manner, right down to yanking him out of his cell in the middle of some random night and letting him experience the same fear and physical/mental torture his victims suffered. Bmwolf21
Update: Columbus -- The governor agrees that Richard W. Cooey II should die for raping and killing two University of Akron women 22 years ago. Gov. Ted Strickland on Friday accepted a unanimous Parole Board's recommendation and denied Cooey's plea for clemency, clearing the way for the former Summit County man to be lethally injected on Tuesday. Strickland reached his decision after reviewing Cooey's case, including the written request for clemency, evidence and letters to the governor's office. Steely Dan
That's not real?? Is it??? Yeah, it is. It happened to a guy in Cleveland. He wasn't bungee jumping. He fell out of his fourth story apartment window while shouting for the ice cream man to stop. Tragic, the ice cream man was particularly upset because that guy alone was making his Lexus payments for him.
/dev/null
Can't find a vein for lethal injection? Ok, how about plugging in Ol' Sparky, lining up a firing squad, turing up the gas chamber, or building a gallow More than one way to skin a cat, so to say

My personal favorite is public execution in big venues like HSBC or the Ralph, and selling tickets and PPV for this. To add some flavor, you can have the public take part in the execution. Again this is me though.
