BUFFALOTONE Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-r...p&type=lgns Article said the CAT scan found a dark spot on Lookers brain and more tests will be taken. Cause relates directly to the Mckelvin hit. But i am sure years of contact didn't help either.
buffaloboyinATL Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-r...p&type=lgns Article said the CAT scan found a dark spot on Lookers brain and more tests will be taken. Cause relates directly to the Mckelvin hit. But i am sure years of contact didn't help either. The article says the cause is unrelated to the hit. "Team medical personnel believe the abnormality is unrelated to the concussion Looker sustained against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 28." It also says: "He said doctors believe the spot that showed up on the CAT scan has been there for some time" The hit may save his life because it brought to light an otherwise undiagnosed medical issue.

But it may not be related to the hit but he was there cause of the hit, if that makes sense.
buffaloboyinATL Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 wow maybe it saves his life.....life works in strange ways Amen, I have a friend who was hit in the nuts by his son, a canonball while he was sleepng on the coach. He went to have it checked out the next day because it still hurt. Doctor said the pain would go away in a day or two but then noticed an unrelated tumor on his other testicle. If not for the canonball it may have gone undiagnosed until it was too late. That was 4 years ago and he has been 100% fine since the cancer was removed.

buffaloboyinATL Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Holy Sh*T No kidding, made me want to go get checked out just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. No reason to wait until I get canonballed...
BEAST MODE BABY! Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 The hit may save his life because it bright to light an otherwise undiagnosed medical issue. I was just thinking the same thing.
Saint Doug Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 This is likely an old injury because fresh blood appears white on CT. As it ages, it will be isodense (same density as normal brain tissue) and then later look like an empty hole (hypodensity). It's not likely they found anything earth shaking here, but just an old sports injury. Baby Joe probably has a ton of hypodensities on his brain CT.
