EndZoneCrew Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Schobel.....he was talking about his lack of production according to the media...said something like....."You can tell that to Sullivan"
davefan66 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Schobel.....he was talking about his lack of production according to the media...said something like....."You can tell that to Sullivan" I believe Sullivan, just like the rest of us, know Schobel hasn't done anything this year.
LabattBlue Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Schobel.....he was talking about his lack of production according to the media...said something like....."You can tell that to Sullivan" WAAAHHHHH! Go home and look at your savings account balance and I'm sure you'll get over it.
DPR4444 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Schobel must have been inspired by Bruce Smith in ripping Sullivan. I just wish the inspiration would transfer to the field.
devldog131 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Schobel is second on the team in tackles with 32, is tied for second on the team for tackles for loss, is second on the team in quarterback pressures and is tied for second on the team in quarterback hits. No other player ranks in the top two in as many defensive categories as Schobel... Yeah, he's not doing anything... /sarcasm

Is Schobel the new twobillsdrive whipping boy now or something? The sacks will come. Schobel has done plenty this year and has come really close to some sacks and strips. But then again some people will tell you that Ellis needs to start.
LabattBlue Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 But then again some people will tell you that Ellis needs to start. Any talk of Ellis starting is ridiculous, but you do have to wonder why a guy who came out of college touted as a pass rushing specialist hasn't got to the point where he is ACTIVE for a game instead of Copeland friggin' Bryan on a team that continues to have pass rushing problems.

Special teams man. All about the special teams with your back ups. I too would like to see Ellis activated for once on a Sunday though. Also we all know that some college players don't transition real well to the NFL right off the bat. Obviously he is one of them or he would be activated. My thoughts of coarse.
8-8 Forever? Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Jerry Sullivan seems to be a very negative person. No one is asking him to be a cheerleader, but after reading most of his columns, you want to go shoot yourself, his writing is so very bitter. Seems he has a great deal of difficulty finding positives in situations. .. A lifetime in doing-nothing/going-nowhere WNY will do that to you, I guess...
bills44 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Why does Schobel waste his time reading or listening to Sullivan? Better yet, why does he take Sullivan to heart? Maybe he should take his aggression out on opposing QBs, instead of crappy sportswriters.
RayFinkle Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I believe Sullivan, just like the rest of us, know Schobel hasn't done anything this year. Me thinks you should take a closer look at the stats. Sacks are not the only determining factor to see if someone is playing well.
Wagon Circler Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 O.K.- Schjobel has paid well but has not gotten the sacks which is what we need him to do. Kelsey was our best player in the pre-season, but as usual never gets near the Q.B. It wiuld seem like it might be time to dress Ellis and give him a shot. Sorry, Copeland.
Hazed and Amuzed Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 It wiuld seem like it might be time to dress Ellis and give him a shot. Sorry, Copeland. I must admit that I do like your interpretation of the spelling of the word Would. I think I might start using it in the future.
JStranger76 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Some including me have called for adding Ellis to the ROTATION, I don't think even one poster has stated that he needs to start. Copeland Bryan sucks.

BuffaloSteph Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 A lifetime in doing-nothing/going-nowhere WNY will do that to you, I guess... I beg to differ, I am doing alot, going places and live a very prosporous and happy life. I am not even a native WNY'er. I wouldn't live anywhere else. Now Jerry Sullivan - I believe it is just in his DNA to be a cynic. He's a sports writer, if he felt that way about WNY - he could leave.
ColdBlueNorth Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I agree the talk is stupid. Is Schobel the new twobillsdrive whipping boy now or something? The sacks will come. Schobel has done plenty this year and has come really close to some sacks and strips. But then again some people will tell you that Ellis needs to start. I agree that Schobel can be dominant, and he plays smart and has been a solid tackler. What has been lacking is the QB pressure and sacks. I just think he is playing hurt and does not have that push that he needs. He is pretty light as a DE and relies on a speed game ala Jason Taylor, take away the speed and what you have left is a pretty solid tacking lineman, but not much in the way of moves to elude linemen. He also draws double teams - not all the time, but often enough where the rest of the line should be stepping up. He is far from alone, has Kelsey's name been called much this year for making any big plays?
DaGimp Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Schobel is a douche bag. He needs to take a look at the Titans or Giants to see what real DE's look like.

Wow, did you come up with that all by yourself? Take a look at the stats, he has been on of the most consistent performers on our defense. Sacks are not the only measure of a productive player. Douche bag.
