The Senator is to blame. His hubris and stupidity caused Edwards to get hurt, and made the D play like Crap.

ieatcrayonz for calling him porcelain.

THE BUFFALO BILLS

Amen.

I'm not a fan of JP by any means but didn't he finish the day with over a 100 qb rating? Can't blame the QB IMO when that happens.

Virgil, I like your list but the defense should be number 1. The lack of pressure was an embarrassment. You can not give a one dimensional offense that kind of time and hope to win.

At first look, most would agree that the defense was to blame. And the defense was sliced and diced to be sure. However, it all stars, or ends, with the offensive line.

It should be no secret to any team in the league that the way to stop the Bills is to blitz. Someone wrote that there were safety blitzes which couldn't be stopped. Baloney....you can't tell me that other teams don't adjust for blitzes with hot reads and quick outs, not to mention putting in extra blockers by using Tight Ends and Running Backs. Look at the Giants and Patriots, they use both quick plays and extra blocking very effectively. The Bills defense seemed to stubbornly stick to a defensive scheme that wasn't working.

That being said, if you don't keep your offense on the field, A) You don't score points (except defensively, which they didn't and are few and far between at best, B) The defense gets worn out and exhausted from being on the field for so much and eventually runs out of gas and can't stop the run or the pass. JP was shoved into a bad situation and played exactly like we've seen him play his whole career.

Target the OL as reason #1 and Fewell as a very close #2. If the OL is not up to the task of handling the blitz or opening holes for the running game, Schonert had better ramp up the hot reads and quick outs in one helluva hurry. Burn the other team with a couple of those and they'll most likely back off on the blitzing which should give the Bills offense the ability to sustain drives. Buffalo lost the TOP by nearly 13 minutes against Arizona. Rarely will a team win a game under those circumstances.
