Seems not only are our Buffalo Bills in the top 3-4 teams in Pro rankings but the Orchard Park Quakers High School football team in New York's top 2!

Football

2008 NYSSWA rankings (through Sept. 29)

Rank Class AA Record

===== =====================

1. West Genesee 4-0 (Syracuse area)

2. Orchard Park 4-0 (Buffalo Bills back yard)

3. Gates Chili 4-0 (Rochester area)

4. William Floyd 3-0 (Long Island)

5. St. Joe by the Sea-CSHFL 3-0 (NYC area)

6. St. Anthony's-CHSFL 3-1 (Long Island Catholic)

7. Monroe-Woodbury 4-0 (Mid-Hudson Valley)

8. Curtis-PSAL 4-0 (NYC area)

10. Syracuse CBA 4-0 (Syracuse area)

So, here's to a New York State Class 'AA' championship for the Orchard Park Quakers High School football team and Super Bowl Championship for the Buffalo Bills.

This post is NOT jinx. I'm from Syracuse and a huge SU fan so I KNOW!!!

Note: High schools on Long Island and NYC do not compete in the NY State championship games.

Color me unenthused.

I fail to see how OP being 4-0 and ranked in the top 5 in NYS Class AA means anything. You know, considering they do it EVERY YEAR and then almost every year fall in the Far West Regionals to the Section V (Rochester area) champion.

Choke artists, they are.

History:

2007: Lost in NYS Semifinals

2006: Lost Far West Regionals

2005: Lost FWR

2004: Lost FWR

2003: Lost Section VI Championship (Lockport)

2002: Lost Section VI Championship (N. Tonawanda)

2001: Lost FWR

2000: Not a playoff, or bowl playoff team

1999: Lost Section VI Semifinal (6-2 Lockport over 8-0 OP)

1998: Lost FWR

Or maybe they are not as good as the Rochester teams.

I am with the other posters; who cares. I nominate this for dumbest post of the week.

NYS HS football is not like that in OH, TX, FL, PA and so on - common knowledge - so I'm happy to hear that they are nicely ranked.

They are winning, but it's early, let's not get ahead of ourselves. They really need to establish the run better and the line has been atrocious. The defense has been good, but they start slow. It takes them too long to adjust. They do have a weak schedule this year, so that should help. But haven't played anybody to this point. I will reserve judgment on this team for now, even though they are 4-0.

Apparently, you did enough to open the thread and post your stupid comment.

It's real simple. If it doesn't interest, don't read it or be a d-bag about it. Good for OP and they have always had a good program. It would be nice to see NYS, and especially WNY, become big time programs.

If you are from WNY, you likely played high school ball. Unless you actually went to OP, you probably hate them.
