DanInSouthBuffalo Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 "I hired the wrong guy again" I believe it should read: "I hired the wrong guy five times in the last six years" (I think that is the stat on coaches in Oakland). IMHO, that says it all. You don't have to bring anything else up.
WellDressed Posted October 2, 2008 Author Posted October 2, 2008 Al Davis is a jackass. You said it straw hat!!
jarthur31 Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Al Davis is a jackass. That's not AD. It's his undead corpse. He and Keith Richards share a commune growing enviro-friendly veggies and watching old cult movies to Beatles records played backwards and pin cushioning each other at nite.

Well if Davis is an undead corpse what is Ralph Wilson?!?!? B.
John from Riverside Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Firing Lane Kiffen was a mercy firing in my opinion....he is a good coach that can now go somewhere and be successful......

He looks like Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street!
justnzane Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 He looks like Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street! 1-2 Freddy's coming for you
Kelso_Helmet Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 1-2 Freddy's coming for you ...he looks sorta like the crypt keeper there
lets_go_bills Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Oakland's problem is Al Davis. He is a moron but unfortunately he owns the team. He fires everybody if they don't succeed right away. You need three years to see if a coach is the right guy or not. I can't imagine who would want to take that job next season. Al is nuts.
VOR Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Well if Davis is an undead corpse what is Ralph Wilson?!?!? B. Your savior. Bow down before him.

Thats exactly what Warren Sapp said http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8636486?MSNHPHMA Well, that and if anyone every calls him and asks about the Raiders, he tells them to stay away
l< j Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Maybe the 'wrong guy' he was referring to was himself? Did you know that the Raiders employ 11 front office people in the "Raider Image" department? This is over and above the 6 in marketing, and the 3 in public/community relations. http://www.raiders.com/Team/Default.aspx?id=106 Talk about a tough job. kj
gsurdam Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 He looks like Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street! I think Colin Cowheard nailed it... he said "Al davis looks like a lollipop you left in a glass of water over night"... I laughed my ass off when he said that Wednesday morning...
Sisyphean Bills Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Trouble is that given Al's "tendencies" how many qualified coaches are even remotely interested in talking to him about the job there? I mean it isn't just that he's crazy and wants total authority; but, on top of firing a coach, he'll make self-contradictory claims to justify stiffing someone he fires. It's not just bad football, it's bad business. Shanahan and Kiffin should start a support group.
