The Bills at 4-0

Seven times in their history (before 2008), the Bills have won at least their first four ballgames. Only once did such a start fail to produce a playoff birth, and of the six playoff teams, only one failed to win at least one playoff game.

Best starts of the past:

'64: 9-0 (best start in team history) --> finished 12-2, won AFL Championship

'65: 4-0 --> 10-3-1, won AFL Championship

'75: 4-0 --> 8-6, missed playoffs

'80: 5-0 --> 11-5, lost to Chargers in divisional playoff

'88: 4-0 --> 12-4, lost to Bengals in AFC Championship

'91: 5-0 --> 13-3, lost Super Bowl

'92: 4-0 --> 11-5, lost Super Bowl

Next week, obviously, the list gets shorter if the boys can get the job done in Phoenix. It's a great time to be optimistic if you're a Bills' fan.
