“Give a lot of credit to the Oakland Raiders. They brought the pass rush and brought a ton of pressure in the first half that we really hadn’t practiced for , and it was just a great job defensively,” said Edwards.

Is this why our offense came out looking flat, because we were surprised and weren't expecting the Raiders to actually show up and attack a young QB and a rusty Jason Peters? I know the team works hard the week leading up to the game, but to think they'd overlook something like this is hard to fathom.

I'm confident that the Bills coaching staff will work on this a lot more this upcoming week and throughout the season. We are 3-0 for the first time since 1992.

I think the coaches mentioned that Raiders blitzed more than they have in the past, so it caught the Bills a bit unprepared. Just like last week they mentioned that Jags didn't blitz as much as they had expected. Sounds like Bills made 2nd half adjustments to roll in the Jags game plan.

It's a gamble to game plan, because as an offense you look at the defensive tendencies and guess that given Hall's troubles in the first two games, Raiders wouldn't gamble by blitzing often.

When I heard that a craped my pants. I think I'm right but doesn't OAK love to blitz? So I think you should have worked on that. But they still won so.

Oakland blitzed very little the first two games. Didn't bring it at all in the first game, just a little more against KC. That's probably why they didn't expect it.

O, I thought they loved to blitz with Rob Ryan, sorry.

Also interesting that the o-line is getting some credit for "showing up" in the second half, but it seemed to me that the Bills just used more max protect w/ backs and TEs and that the Raiders stopped blitzing as much. Not sure the line deserves much credit for the decrease in pressure...

Al Davis is notorious for not liking the blitz... So I've heard. THat was part of the reason Davis and Kiffen had a tiff before week 2. Davis was telling the DC Ryan to not blitz and Kiffen wanted more blitzing but Ryan was listening to Davis. It was sorta public before the Week 2 games.

The Raiders blitzed way more than they've shown in the past. Ryan's a good DC and he had a good game plan. That the Bills made adjustments at halftime and forced them into more of a zone look is another sign of this team's growth and maturation (although having an injury to the Raiders DT didn't hurt, either :w00t: ).
