CosmicBills
THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR BEING A SHITTALKER!!!! I actually think that was a key, if not THE key, turning point in the game.
Dan
I was just about to post on that hit. I absolutely loved it!! Almost like he said.. oh no you don't just walk into my endzone - and put a helmet in his back.
Big Turk
Whitner perhaps the biggest statement of the year for this team...they are not taking that type of BS lightly, and will not tolerate that no matter who it is... It is the same thing Josh Reed has shown on offense...they are not going to be intimidated, scared, or pushed around by ANYONE... Whitner just gained the ultimate respect of everyone in that locker room...

Typical TBD Guy
I actually think that was a key, if not THE key, turning point in the game. Agreed! Back in the day, Thurman Thomas would sometimes take one of these types of penalties (throwing a helmet or something) to rally the team.
zevo
Symbolic of what this team is about!
bladiebla
Aye well worth the penalty (which was offset anyway), don't mess with the Bills!
bills44
Yes. I didn't care about the 15 yards at the time. My only regret was that Whitner didn't knock him out. I admit that I wasn't enamored with the Whitner pick when it happened, but the kid is a damn good football player, and a damn good leader.
MDH
If a Patriot player does that this board is going crazy calling them cheapshot artists. A Bill does it and people love it. Go figure.
CosmicBills
If a Patriot player does that this board is going crazy calling cheapshot artists. A Bill does it and people love it. Go figure. Difference is it wasn't a hit to cause an injury. It wasn't a "cheap shot" or blind side. It was a FU to his own team and to the WR. It was a momentum swing. I don't think the (rational) people on the board would be calling it a cheapshot had a Bills guy been taunting the whole way then got tackled in the endzone. Now, if Dante waited till he started doing his TD dance THEN hit him -- it would be totally different.
John from Riverside
Ordinariily I dont like ti.....but that WR was slowing down and talking @hit to Whitner the whole way....you could see it on the replay.......

Exactly, just a slight difference between a random cheapshot and retribution to a player who's been taunting your team.
Corp000085
I honestly don't know why whitner wasn't thrown out of the game. Seemed like the perfect opportunity for a tit for tat call to make up for the guy who punched reed in the throat.

A punch is an automatic ejection, which is why Wilson got tossed.

Wasn't it Reed that Gibril Wilson punched -which got Wilson ejected?

It was a late tackle. far less serious than a punch to the face, but the reality of the nfl these days seemed to dictate that whitner get the axe too. Yes, the punch is far worse than a late tackle, but i'm really liking the fact that the refs were on our side today.

Whitner put an end to that s#it.
