ExiledInIllinois
With TrooperGate being squashed (not arguing a position here), what it the point to even having a rule of law? What is the point of a subpoena if someone is just going to blow it off? Is there something I should know if ever I get subpoenaed? A subpoena (pronounced /səˈpiːnə/) is commonly defined as a written command to a person to testify before a court or be punished.
PastaJoe
The problem in this case is the subpoena was issued by the legislature, not a judge, and therefore if it's ignored it takes a vote by the full legislature to hold them in contempt. And isn't it convienient that they don't come back until January, so it will get kicked down the road until after the election. Politicians never learn that the coverup usually ends up worse than what they did, it makes it look like they're trying to hide something. If there's nothing to hide, then cooperate. Bishop Hedd
You just answered your own question; "if there's nothing to hide, then cooperate". Of course there's something to hide or her and the husband would be all over Sean Hannity's program proclaiming their innocence over this partisan witch hunt. Oh wait...she is.
