MarkyMannn Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I'm down 10% in the last week. Kill me
aussiew Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I'm going to have to work until I'm 103 years old!!!
DC Tom Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 401k, not so good...limited to mutual funds. My investment account, though...up 15%.
Tux of Borg Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Mine took a major hit but I am still dumping money into it.
bills_fan Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Here's a tip... Buy financials as soon as the market opens tomorrow. As many as you can get. Buy SSB, GS, MS, C, GE...buy as much as possible. Tomorrow should be a big up day for the market. If you want the whole story, see my thread on PPP. And that 10% down may turn to 10% in the other direction within the next 30 days.
bills_fan Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 401k, not so good...limited to mutual funds. My investment account, though...up 15%. Bastard!! I have far too much inside information to trade the way I want to!!
bills_fan Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Add on to my "buy financials" tip, keeping buying Mon and Tues, put sells in pre-open on Wed. Lock in your gains and wait for normalization.
DC Tom Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Bastard!! I have far too much inside information to trade the way I want to!! I'm contracted to Ginnie Mae; I actually have access to all their MBS data. I couldn't invest in a bank even if I wanted to.
molson_golden2002 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Both of my stock simulator accounts at investopedia.com got clobbered!
BarkLessWagMore Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Both of my stock simulator accounts at investopedia.com got clobbered! Just don't panic and jump off a simulated bridge!!
PastaJoe Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I'm going to have to work until I'm 103 years old!!! Damn, the service at McDonalds is too slow as it is. I don't worry about my 401k, I'm assuming I'll be dead before I can take advantage of it, and why should my wife have so much fun without me.
HopsGuy Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I'm contracted to Ginnie Mae; I actually have access to all their MBS data. I couldn't invest in a bank even if I wanted to. Those zip codes are like the Glengarry leads now.
mead107 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I am going to have to buy 2 buck chuck for the rest of my life .
Buffal0 Bill5 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I put a couple grand in the American Euro Pacific Fund not quite a year ago. To date I am down something like 23%. This week sure didn't help. I looked at the perspectus prior to putting money in, and over 5 years the fund averaged something like 14%. I guess "past performance does not guarantee future results."
Tcali Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 I'm going to have to work until I'm 103 years old!!! instead of my planned retirement at 52 it looks more like 62
Tcali Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Those zip codes are like the Glengarry leads now. lolol
