Steely Dan Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Linkage • Any list of celebrations gone wrong correctly begins with the Leon Lett, who famously slowed to showboat during a return of a fumble recovery in Super Bowl XXVII. Buffalo's Don Beebe knocked the ball away at the last moment, and Lett missed out on a sure touchdown. Of course, the Cowboys forced eight additional turnovers and romped to a 52-17 victory nonetheless.
Steely Dan Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 Somehow I'm not finding this funny... Even though it was a loss that play was awesome. According to Don Beebe a lot of high school coaches have told him that they have shown that play to their players to instill the never give up attitude. Beebe made Lett look like a jackass and that's always a good thing.
olivier in france Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 That play remains as the bright light in the dark tunnel of our 4 Superbowls losses.
molson_golden2002 Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 If we had just won that last SB all would have been right. Thurman's fumble early in the 3rd quater killed a part of me
