YellowLinesandArmadillos
McCain and Obama are both trying to gain an advantage on the economy. McCain seems to have won the good looking campaign with the pick of Palin. Obama appears to have an advantage on the economy, but can McCain turn this around? McCain is now calling for greater regulation of stock market when just the other day he said the fundamentals of the economy appear strong, how do you think this plays out? molson_golden2002
Wow, they suspended trading in Russia! What's Palin's opinion of this economic meltdown? http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/6ff9306c-83f1-11...?nclick_check=1 Earlier, trading had been suspended on both the Micex and RTS stock exchanges as investors ignored assurances by Russian officials and a cycle of distrust set in amid liquidity fears. Margin calls forced domestic traders to liquidate positions and brokers pulled credit lines. At least one Moscow bank failed to meet payments. The rouble-denominated Micex Index closed 17.75 per cent down, the sharpest one-day drop since the August 1998 financial crisis, while the dollar-denominated RTS index closed down 11.47 per cent, its lowest lvel since January 2006. Interbank money market rates climbed to 11 per cent, their highest since a mini-banking crisis in summer 2004. Chris Weafer, chief strategist at Uralsib investment bank: “We’re in completely uncharted territory where the prevailing emotion is of fear and numbnes. No one knows where this could stop”. It plays out with McCain looking like an idiot. He could even have the better message...the most consistent message (Obama's - which I heard today, and which I thought was a laughable series of platitudes) wins. finknottle
McCain seems to have won the good looking campaign with the pick of Palin. Backers of tall, handsome, eloquent Obama are now going to complain about an unfair mismatch against short, old and crippled McCain because McCain's running mate is cuter than Obama's. Pathetic. StupidNation
Obama's plan to renew the economy will cripple us more than McCain's. I think both of their plans suck, but Obama will hasten the destruction of this nation faster than the Republicans. Great feeling I tell ya!!! With Obama the entitlement and mandatory spending will escalate to unprecedented levels and if that bum gets in universal health care I can bet you will see $6-8 a gallon gas or higher when our dollar hits all-time lows and we officially become a B credit nation. Don't get me wrong, with the exception of Ron Paul no other candidate had any serious plan on getting us out of this mess economically. As a matter of fact not one candidate is discussing the Fed Reserve creating the bubble, how to regulate them as they caused this mess, and how they plan on securing our dollar and dropping our debt especially in the face of a tsunami that is about to hit our shores in the name of "Baby Boomers". Ron Paul as much as I like his irreverence is flat out unstable. He goes through staff faster then a turnstile. That is not a good thing.
