RCow Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 I think Hull is the only one with a realistic shot. Should but won't: Tasker - If Ray Guy isn't in, neither is Steve. Wilson - A great injustice. I'd be appalled even if I wasn't a Bills fan. Talley - Very good, but not HOF caliber. Smerlas - Ditto (if not a character he'd be unknown elsewhere) Speilman - Excellent LB but not enough dominant years (or games). Knox - Very good, but not great.
duey Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Are talking this year, or ever? Ralph will get in...and they better hurry, if you know what I mean. I think Tasker should be in, though with the lock first timers this time around, he'll probably have to wait. The rest of them...nope.

RCow Posted October 22, 2004 Author Posted October 22, 2004 Anyone know when Reed and Thurman are eligible? Anyone else I'm forgetting?
KRC Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Anyone else I'm forgetting? 80962 Bruce Smith.
RCow Posted October 22, 2004 Author Posted October 22, 2004 Bruce Smith. 80965 Ah, right. Can Bruce speed up his eligibility since he all but retired 4 years ago? Oh, I almost forgot Lonnie.
BillsNYC Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 It is a crime that Ralph Wilson is not in the HOF
BillsGuyInMalta Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Anyone know when Reed and Thurman are eligible? Anyone else I'm forgetting? 80962 Thurman is up for it next year...he's a first year guy for sure. Reed is up the following year...might take him a year or two before he gets in though.
RunTheBall Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Wilson will eventually get in. Thurman, Smith are first ballot HOFers Tasker and Hull will get in, not first ballot. Reed is going to have a tough time getting in. RunTheBall
BF_in_Indiana Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 The only one with a realistic shot this year is Ralph. No chance for the others.
SF Bills Fan Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 I think Hull gets in, but it will take a guy like Felser to barnstorm for him kind of like he did for Joe D. Wilson is being denied for some odd reason. He must have made some enemies somewhere. ---------- Go Bills

bills_fan Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Wilson will eventually get in.Thurman, Smith are first ballot HOFers Tasker and Hull will get in, not first ballot. Reed is going to have a tough time getting in. RunTheBall I agree on all but Reed. Why do you say Reed will have a tough time? I know receivers are tougher (Art Monk) and Reed won't be anywhere near first ballot, but never?? His numbers were better than everyone except Lofton in yards and Rice when he retired. If Tim Brown is a HOFer, so is Reed.

He must have made some enemies somewhere. ---------- Go Bills 81076 Remember, Felser is no longer on the board of Hall selectors - Mark Gaughan has Buffalo's vote now. And I repeat what I said last night - if any OL gets in this year, it's more likely to be Gary Zimmerman than Kent Hull. Long-term: don't underestimate Spielman's chances.
BILLS4LIFE Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 I think Hull and Wilson have the best shots. Unfortunately,Tasker and Talley will have to wait awhile longer.

How many PB did Hull go to? Tasker on the other hand wen to 7 and was the MVP once! Steve is the only sure shot in that list. BTW, Tasker was the best at his position during his time in the league. Sorry to say it but Kent never was.
Nanker Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Ralph Wilson will never get into the HOF until after George Young does. Never!
njsue Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 If Ralph, Tasker, Hull make to the finals. We at TBD must do another road trip.

If it carried a lot of weight the HOF would be a joke and Ruben Brown would be a sure thing. Many of the great players are not properly recognized until after their careers and most players would agree that a Pro Bowl is never a hallmark of one's career. At the time Hull was overlooked because of Kelly, Thurman and Reed - the line made it look so easy (under Hull's direction) it didn't look like they had to work very hard. Besides there were quite a few outstanding centers (and much more popular and well known) and for some reason I can't recall a single name (I'll have to jog my memory).
