VABills
The President, obviously, and who else? The Judge? FIOS TV has the NFL network, but they don't have the Sunday Ticket, do they? I believe that is still exclusive to DTV. Yes DTV only still. But there is major talks since Verizon and DTV are teaming partners to see if they can't make the NFL package available for Fios subscribers. They are still in courts trying to figure out if they let verizon pipe it over Fios would they be required to allow all cable companies the same option. Obivously it won't happen this year, but they are hoping to work out the legals by next season.
The Senator
From people I know who already have FIOS internet, they don't bring the fiber to your house unless you order. In the case of Lancaster, they haven't even installed the fiber throughout the town and to the boxes in the subdivisions. Correct - no reason to string the fiber into your home unless you order the service. It'll take a while just to get it up on all the poles and to all those green boxes. LabattBlue
Up? They're not buring it? I think it is being buried in the subdivisions where all the utilities are already buried, but where there is existing poles(main and secondary roads), I'd guess that they are stringing it pole to pole. The Senator
Up? They're not buring it? They do both - large parts of Lancaster are still 'semi-rural' and they'll just hang it from the existing poles. In the newer sub-divisions they'll bury it. Fingon
Just a little warning... Verizon will make you pay $200+ for installation and then $5 a month for every single TV hooked up to it. Not to mention a 2 year contract.

The Senator
Will FIOS work on an old analog set? It should - once inside the home, they use the existing coax between the telco demarc and the set-top box/DVR... FiOS FAQs 'course, you won't get true HD w/out a 1080i HDTV set and HDMI cabling, but you already know that. Looks like they're gonna 'ramp-up' pretty fast here - another dozen or so towns in just a few weeks... Link
