bigbillsfan12
Was it just my eyes playing tricks on me or did the Jags have some seats tarp-ed off and still have half the seats empty? Anyone know the attendance for Sundays game?
SUNTANBILLSFAN2
they tarp the upper deck end zone corners and a lot watched the game in the crown club where there was ac at least where we sat
PromoTheRobot
Looked like many empty seats in the lower bowl and end zones too. Unless those were fans all dressed in teal. PTR

Lori
Attendance was 65,167 according to the ESPN site. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=280914030 That would be the HIGHEST of any of Buffalo's four trips to JAX, then -- they sold in the 58s for the first two. Their last trip up here in 2006 was blacked out when we "only" sold 63,608 tickets, and the attendance at the one before that (the '04 home opener) was 72,389. BuffaloWings
It definitely looked like there were a lot of empty seats in the lower bowl....I didn't notice until the second half, but I presumed it was because of the weather. If that's the case, it's a pretty sad statement.
Marv's Neighbor
it was a sellout they showed the game locally in jacksonville Amazing that they can call it a sellout with all the tarped seats. It's just as hot in Tampa & Miami and they somehow manage to fill their stadium.

If those indoor clubs were available in the lower bowl here, I suspect our stands might not be quite as full, either.
Ned Flanders
the attendance at the one before that (the '04 home opener) was 72,389. Yesterday's game took a little sting out that debacle...which still haunts me to this day.
Chandler#81
My Daughter was at the game and told me hundreds of people were treated for heat related issues and many left via ambulance. She said she watched most of the second half from the cooler concourses, as did multitudes.
Got_Wood
I think a huge issue that you will notice at many professional sports games, is the people that buy the best seats up at the stadium and try to make a huge profit on them. If you noticed, a HUGE chunk of lower level 50 yard line seats were empty at the game on Sunday. While I think the heat was one of the problems, I think the biggest problem was online scalpers. True
Hopefully next year they have 0 attendance at the home opener in JAX next year because they move to LA... B.

udonkey
From the pictures that I took yesterday... Right after the opening kickoff: http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/22171...host=good-times ~12 minutes to go in the 3rd: http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/21603...host=good-times ~4-5 minutes left in the game (this picture was intended to show a large group of Bills fans who were VERY loud at the end of the game): http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/25303...host=good-times All in all, pretty weak crowd. You can see the tarped off sections in the following pictures: http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/24884...host=good-times http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/29847...host=good-times

CSRABILLSFAN
I was there yesterday in the lower level and it was HOT .There was a few Bills fans around me but everyone had a sweat streak on their Butts.I had to leave with 2 minutes left in the game but watched it on the way out. Great Game only one thing did you know Jacksonville had 4 timeouts in the first half?
Lori
Didn't realize that. You're on top of things as usual, Lori... I noticed it last spring when I was comparing the Bills' 2008 ticket prices with other stadiums around the league. See if I can find it in one of the 17 notebooks scattered across my desk right now, as I take a break from a high school football gamer. (I hope the team I'm writing about wins a game soon ... for my sake as well as their own ...) Ah, here it is: according to my notes, the lower-level sidelines in Jax (roughly between the 20s) are 100 percent club seats. Depending on where they draw the line on the visitors' side, my seats -- $70/ticket this year -- would cost either $210 or $165.50 there with a three-year deal, more without it. Their upper deck prices are fairly cheap, though. That's why they're near the Bills at the bottom of the average-price lists (which don't include the premium seats, remember).
