Fingon Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 "MELBOURNE: Scientists have discovered that going veggie could be bad for your brain-with those on a meat-free diet six times more likely to suffer brain shrinkage. " http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/HealthS...how/3480629.cms
Steely Dan Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 People are made to eat meat. We've done it since forever. In order to have a healthy diet a person needs to balance their diet with meat and vegetables. Anyone who thinks otherwise, IMO, is a bonehead.
KD in CA Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 That's funny, I thought you already needed a small brain to become a vegetarian.
drnykterstein Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Oh come on, be fair word it right. You sound like a republican saying it like that. It's tofu, and soy protien that does it, not the vegetables or lack of meat.
justnzane Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 That's funny, I thought you already needed a small brain to become a vegetarian. You are right the converse may imply the original statement.

VOR Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 People are made to eat meat. We've done it since forever. So, 6,000 years is "forever?"
Dr. Fong Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 So, 6,000 years is "forever?" Unless you're one of those wacky creationists we've been doing it for a lot longer than that.

I eat meat, but a humane society ought to limit suffering to all creatures. Ideally farm animals would have only one bad day. PTR
Cugalabanza Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I'm a vegetarian and I'm smart as phuk. Also, vitamin B12 is not hard to come by. It's in the multi-vitamin that I take every day.
drnykterstein Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Unless you're one of those wacky creationists we've been doing it for a lot longer than that. I think he was being sarcastic.

Poor vegetable-eating bastard is so far gone, he doesn't realize how stupid he is. Thinks B-12 is a multi-vitamin.
Pete Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 If God had never intended man to eat animals he would not of made them taste like meat. I like Bourdain's swipes at vegetarians. "lock me in a room with a vegetarian and give me a skillet and some bacon"

"lock me in a room with a vegetarian and give me a skillet and some bacon" If God never intended man to eat kitty why did he shape it like a taco?
Dr. Fong Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I think he was being sarcastic. My response wasn't really serious either.

In order to have a healthy diet a person needs to balance their diet with meat and vegetables. Anyone who thinks otherwise, IMO, is a bonehead. Yeah. You're a credible source. Meat was hard to come by for our ancestors, (and a tough trade of calories burned to calories eaten), many of whom probably ate no to negligible meat. You can be perfectly healthy and not eat meat. That study was about B12 and lack thereof causing problems. You can get B12 without killing animals.
