I would be surprised wasnt intentional

Pretty brutal looking though... I mean really, his ENTIRE helmet spun around his head!

Isn't perception 9/10 of the law?

He probably should be. The players are responsible for controlling their actions. Sometimes a player may touch a facemask, now that 15 yards is the only penalty I hope there are more good non-calls when it has no effect on the play or safety. It may even be the case that reflexively they yank it. If so they deserve the 15 yard penalty they get for this dangerous play.

However, Pos held onto it hard and long enough that because the Jax player had his helmet on loosely enough (something the player and equipment manager should be talked to about as well) that it turned completely around his head in Pos's grip I think Pos clearly did not maintain proper control over his tackling style.

No, I think it's possession is 9/10ths.

Based on the facemask crackdown the league put on this year, I would guess that even though there was no malicious intent, he'll probably end up with a $5,000 fine. No big deal.

Sometimes helmets come off. I'm sure you all have noticed football players don't always do up all the straps/buttons on their helmets. That may have played a factor.

Yea, but the helmet rotated on his head, a full revolution. :wallbash:

I think he should be. How do you gauge intent on things like that? Fortunately it looked a lot worse than it was, but players have to be careful about those plays.

I hope he is...it will add to the legend....

Opposing RB: Hey Poz--too bad about the fine...

Poz: I guess $5K is small price to pay for hearing screams of pain as I twisted off MJD's head...

Poz's new nickname: Twist-off

A player has to release immediately if they accidentally grab the facemask. Poz pulled the thing completely around. A player can seriously hurt another player by doing that. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a big fine.

Well.. people have been saying for a while that Poz was going to rip some guy's head off. I guess they knew what they were talking about!

When you sweat bucket-loads the helmets come off and are swung around easy enough, also in part to the way some noggin's are shaped! :wallbash:
