Captain Hindsight Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3585348 Didnt see this posted, Bye week in week 2? Thats a shame for both teams, hopefully everything is going ok down south
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I'm glad I checked my fantasy roster, as I had Andre Johnson starting... Ditto the hopes for a quick recovery down there. Having trouble finding sympathy for those that refuesed to evacuate tho.
thebug Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3585348 Didnt see this posted, Bye week in week 2? Thats a shame for both teams, hopefully everything is going ok down south Thanks for the link, I was wondering what was up as I just printed out my picks sheet for a pool I am in and it said postponed until week 10. Has this ever happened before?
elcrusho Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 don't they understand they can play football without a roof...
Chilly Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 don't they understand they can play football without a roof... Perhaps they're worried about other structural damage, such as other parts of the roof falling down during the game? Maybe they wanted the players to take care of their homes and families instead of playing a football game?

ricojes Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Maybe they wanted the players to take care of their homes and families instead of playing a football game? Yes, that was the main reason.
Chilly Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Maybe he was joking.... perhaps you are correct and my detector ran out of batteries
Captain Hindsight Posted September 14, 2008 Author Posted September 14, 2008 Perhaps they're worried about other structural damage, such as other parts of the roof falling down during the game? Maybe they wanted the players to take care of their homes and families instead of playing a football game? Thats what the coaches and league decided that family was more important than football and i tend to agree
justnzane Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 perhaps you are correct and my detector ran out of batteries i think your detector has been out of batteries for a while... especially after lookin at your PPP posts

SageAgainstTheMachine Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Not to trivialize a natural disaster into its effects on my fantasy team, but this week I'm starting Rudi Johnson, Anthony Fasano (W/T position) and John Kasay instead of McGahee, Andre Johnson, and Matt Stover (very deep league)...should be rather interesting
BillsWatch Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 No MNF. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3585348 Ravens and Texans get bye week this week. Texans home game against Ravens is now Nov 9 Texans home game against Bengals is now Oct 26. Five sections of Texans roof are gone or collapsed due to Ike. This will inconvenience a number of fans (Bengals fans are probably wondering why they were roped into this rather than another team) but something has to be done.
Just Jack Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 This will inconvenience a number of fans (Bengals fans are probably wondering why they were roped into this rather than another team) but something has to be done. Because this was the easiest and least inconvenient way to adjust the games.
