deep2evans Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 BECAUSE Vince Young is out. He believes with Kerry Collins in there at QB, and Young on the sidelines, the Titans become the team to beat. I'm not a VY fan either, but I'm thinking this guy just likes to make ridiculous predictions to get face time...
bartshan-83 Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 He's trying to make his opinions more rediculous than his suit/tie combos. Merril, pinstripes and neon green dont go together.
Stl Bills Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Merril Hoge is total douche and he never liked Young coming into that draft. Seems like he's been on a little crusade against Young ever since.
Billadelphia Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I wouldn't say favorite, but I would say that they have an outside chance at winning the AFC. I think there are probably close to 10 teams that have a chance to do that, but it's too early to tell at this point. One thing is for sure, if Tom Brady doesn't go down yesterday, this conversation doesn't even happen.
Realist Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 If Collins was that good still, he'd be starting for some other team. Personally I think he's better than VY but not to the tune of "the team to beat" in the AFC. That title belongs to Pittsburgh now with Brady out.
Jerry Jabber Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 He's trying to make his opinions more rediculous than his suit/tie combos. Merril, pinstripes and neon green dont go together. Are Merill Hodge & John "shrunkenhead" Clayton best buddies, because they're both whacked out of their minds?!
bizell Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 with Tennessee's tough, physical defense, I don't see why they couldn't win the AFC. with/without Young @ QB.
DDD Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Merrill Hoge had multiple concussions while playing which obviously clouds his thought process. The thing most annoying about him are those butt-ugly suites he wears with the skinny necktie.

seq004 Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Cowterd said pretty much the same thing today.
erynthered Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Remember he retired after suffering a series of concussions. So dont take him too serious.
Billsjunkie Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Hoge also said that Mularkey was going to be a great coach for the Bills. He is an idiot.
silvermike Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Hey, Kerry Collins has led his team to a Super Bowl before... Ugh, what a bonehead. With the Pats losing Brady and the Colts and Chargers and Jags losing, it's far more open than it has been in years. But Titans as favorites? Are you kidding me?
Fingon Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Merril Hoge is total douche and he never liked Young coming into that draft. Seems like he's been on a little crusade against Young ever since. To be fair, Young sucks... a lot.
Captain Hindsight Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 BECAUSE Vince Young is out. I'm not a VY fan either, but I'm thinking this guy just likes to make ridiculous predictions to get face time... REALLY? I agree that the titans are better but i would take the colts or SD over the titans o and us
eball Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I admit, I'm as guilty as anyone of not typically giving the Titans enough credit (and I'm not a Vince Young fan). It does seem a bit of a stretch to call them the favorites, however.
