The Senator
Sarah Palin isn't a "Hockey Mom", She's a fourth-line agitator! http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/ Hey there Flame-O! Missed ya, sweetie - where'd ya go to? Step out for a little rimcheese snack? I didn't realize 'til now how much of a freakin' plagiarizing Joe Biden lover & protege you are..... Sarah Palin Is Not a Hockey Mom She's a hockey player. She’s a fourth-line hockey agitator, beloved by the home crowd, loathed by the opponents, injecting passion into both fan bases, the kind of home-team hero that no Stanley Cup winner goes without. The Senator
Why so nasty? Are they nasty? You'd have to ask JK2000 he's been sniffin' & lickin' 'em for so long.
ExiledInIllinois
Are they nasty? You'd have to ask JK2000 he's been sniffin' & lickin' 'em for so long. Yes, at times... But, you seem to be taking it to a new level. Let me repeat. Why are you so nasty? You are better than to let it get personal between the people here. ExiledInIllinois
So she's Matthew Barnaby? Awesome! No. Chris Neil/Chris Simon. You know punks that know the "Instigator Rule" is in place and fully exploit the fact that when YOU send your ennforcer out... YOU get the penalty. To me, that is what a 4th line agitator is. Now if we can return to the "good ole days", I should be able to send out Dave Semenko or Marty McSorley to revenge attacking Wayne Gretzky! Sheesh... These "new hockey moms" don't have a clue what it was really like!

KD in CA
I'm glad you didn't insult Rob Ray that way Rob Ray was an enforcer, Barnaby was an instigator. Geez...leave it to an Obama support to not understand the difference.
YellowLinesandArmadillos
Rob Ray was an enforcer, Barnaby was an instigator. Geez...leave it to an Obama support to not understand the difference. The problem with the analogy is usually an enforcer doesn't know how to score except on rare occasions. Instigators often do. Not clear, Palin knows how to score, but she can throw and elbow when the ref isn't looking. Now that everyone is, she is liable to get caught, and to carry the analogy further receive a double minor or a major, could even get kicked out. The real question is, does it throw the Ds off their game? It may have for a short time, but it appears to have helped Obama get over his Hillary divisions really quickly uniting the Ds against Palin. Sometimes an instigator on the opposing team can help energize and focus an unfocused team. In this case it appears Obama and Biden are handling it well, and now their supporters are following their lead, bringing HRC supporters along with them. We shall see. The Republicans are great instigators and I expect the kitchen sink out of them. It will depend on how well the Dems can counter punch McCain's strike, spares and misses. ExiledInIllinois
Rob Ray was an enforcer, Barnaby was an instigator. Geez...leave it to an Obama support to not understand the difference. Again, Chris Neil analogy is more fitting. In hockey today (instigator rule), you truly can't have an "enforcer." No way does anyone "run" Palin in fear of taking a major and hurting your team. One has to play clean with the pests. Like Neil/Palin and their ilk, the punks just skate away fully understanding the rules. Really sad what hockey and politics have become. molson_golden2002
http://www.newsweek.com/id/158140 An Anchorage judge three years ago warned Sarah Palin and members of her family to stop "disparaging" the reputation of Alaska State Trooper Michael Wooten, who at the time was undergoing a bitter separation and divorce from Palin's sister Molly. Allegations that Palin, her husband Todd, and at least one top gubernatorial aide continued to vilify Wooten—after Palin became Alaska's governor and pressured state police officials to take action against him—are at the center of "Troopergate," a political and ethical controversy which has embroiled Palin's administration and is currently the subject of an official inquiry by a special investigator hired by the state legislature. blzrul
My colleague, whose father was an NHL player and owns a number of rinks (she was a figure skater) just explained to me what it means to play hockey in these kids' leagues up in the great white north. It is NOT cheap. So it's not available to everyone - mostly just the "haves". Oh and they're Canadian by the way, they don't give a rip about US politics. They were just commenting to me that making the claim "hockey mom" doesn't mean exactly what it implies. It's actually somewhat of a boast in terms of "I got the bucks to do it" from their perspective. I personally wouldn't know. I don't like hockey.
