Mickey Avalon - Waiting to Die

(disclaimer, this is a rap song...so disinterested people don't have to waste their time checking it out on youtube :angry: )

I don't listen to much rap but I have a lot of respect for Gang Starr. This is my favorite tune of theirs-

Up To Me - Bob Dylan

King Harvest - The Band

Informer - Snow

I love "Up to Me" and everything by the Band. And "Informer?" Nice.

Kick Push- Lupe Fiasco

Kick Push is good, but my favorite Lupe song is "Dumb it Down."

The National - Fake Empire

The National is such a great band, "Boxer" is a phenomenal album.

Three is a Magic Number - Blind Melon

Here it Comes - Modest Mouse

Igziabeher - Peter Tosh

Last Goodbye - Jeff Buckley

Blind Melon is one of my favorite bands, Hoon and Buckley, two guys that could've done so much more. I really like "You're the Good Things" off that Modest Mouse album. And definitely one of the better Peter Tosh songs.

They're hilarious...and Avalon is the real deal. They just put out a new mixtape last week.

I gotta check that out. Even though they're funny, like you said, they're legit.

Definitely a quirky song, but I actually find it inspiring.

... Once I broke my problems into small pieces I was able to carry them, just like those acorns, one at a time.

... The problems at hand are lighter than at heart. :lol:

wow. u guys are pulling out all my old faves....saw paul kelly in utica back in the 80's, he was awesome....and XTC......godddam i wish andy didnt have stage fright, they would have had such an awesome careeer....English Settlement is one of the top rock albums..........EVER!!!!!!

I never got to see PK, but I was one of the lucky ones to see XTC blow the Police off the stage @ UB's Clark Gym back in '78 - '79 or so... they were touring for the Drums and Wires LP.

Captain Beefheart @ UB (Buff State?) Hallowe'en '77 was great, too.

+1 to PTR for Gentle Giant;

+1 to Taterhill for SOTW;

+1 to BBinATL for Icicle Works.
