Andrew in CA Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Up To Me - Bob DylanKing Harvest - The Band Informer - Snow I love "Up to Me" and everything by the Band. And "Informer?" Nice. Kick Push- Lupe Fiasco Kick Push is good, but my favorite Lupe song is "Dumb it Down." The National - Fake Empire The National is such a great band, "Boxer" is a phenomenal album. Three is a Magic Number - Blind MelonHere it Comes - Modest Mouse Igziabeher - Peter Tosh Last Goodbye - Jeff Buckley Blind Melon is one of my favorite bands, Hoon and Buckley, two guys that could've done so much more. I really like "You're the Good Things" off that Modest Mouse album. And definitely one of the better Peter Tosh songs. Mickey Avalon - Waiting to Die (disclaimer, this is a rap song...so disinterested people don't have to waste their time checking it out on youtube ) Ha, gotta love Dyslexic Speedreaders. Although I've heard "1980" everywhere I've been this summer. A few of mine: "Seahorse" by Devendra Banhart ( )"Bridges & Balloons" by Joanna Newsom ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVcJvQQzBgo...feature=related ) "Heretic Pride" by The Mountain Goats ( )"Leaf House" by Animal Collective ( )"Last War" by Zap Pow ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQekKCZZztw ) "D.C.B.A.-25" by Jefferson Airplane ( ) "Acid Raindrops" by People Under the Stairs ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEhz4z_ztAw )

BLZFAN4LIFE Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Definitely a quirky song, but I actually find it inspiring. ... Once I broke my problems into small pieces I was able to carry them, just like those acorns, one at a time. ... The problems at hand are lighter than at heart.
tennesseeboy Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Amy by Bobby Darin, on the other side of If I were a carpenter. Always liked that song.

I never got to see PK, but I was one of the lucky ones to see XTC blow the Police off the stage @ UB's Clark Gym back in '78 - '79 or so... they were touring for the Drums and Wires LP. Captain Beefheart @ UB (Buff State?) Hallowe'en '77 was great, too. +1 to PTR for Gentle Giant; +1 to Taterhill for SOTW; +1 to BBinATL for Icicle Works.
