truth on hold Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Might as well make him an LB at this point. We need an LB with Crowell gone, and at 243 Schoebel will get blown off the line if he lines up at DE. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=2594

Stl Bills Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Since last offseason, no wait the one before, when somebody else was bitching bout the same thing. Geez, where you been man.

Say what you want about him, but he's held up pretty well over there, put up some very good sack numbers. To move him to LB now might... just MIGHT... be the dumbest suggestion we've heard yet.

Maybe the rapid weight loss explains his huge drop off in production last year. I can swear he was list around 280 lbs a few years ago
Fewell733 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 he's played at about this weight his whole career. in the offseason he was asked a lot about it (by fans) and he indicated that most pass rushing DE's are playing around this weight range despite what they're listed at.

Opposing offenses were never sure if he was an OLB or DE. worked well as he was in on several big plays and there for all 3 championships

Chris Brown mentioned a day or two ago that we might sometimes give a 3-4 look in our defense.

Nobody really knows what weight Schobel or any other DE is playing at, but IF his play is lacking and he appears to be getting pushed around, this is the first question that will be asked.
billybob Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Schobel has been listed at 243 for the last three years before that he was listed at 265- he has never been a force against the run so don't judge him on that this year- our best run defender at DE is Denny and he's average.
