ans4e64 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Wow. And I thought this would finally be the year Ellison wouldn't have to start
VABills Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 Wow. And I thought this would finally be the year Ellison wouldn't have to start Maybe we can trade for someone. Losman wants a starting job, and we need a younger LB.
Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Maybe we can trade for someone. Losman wants a starting job, and we need a younger LB. What team would wait until two days before the season starts to trade for a starting QB?

Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I don't want this to fall completely into the "I've heard of him category," but what about John Lynch? I know he's a FS, but he was working with the Pats at LB and he's very familiar with the Tampa 2 D.
FluffHead Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Well we now have a roster spot open...Any ideas for a competent replacement (I wouldn't classify Donnie Spragan as a competent replacement)
Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Rosey Colvin was released by Houston. He's got some experience in Jauron's system and is familiar with the division from his time with the Pats.
VABills Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 What team would wait until two days before the season starts to trade for a starting QB? Baltimore Chicago
Bleed Bills Blue Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Hope no other shoes drop this week.
Frez Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 What team would wait until two days before the season starts to trade for a starting QB? The Ravens.
ans4e64 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 BaltimoreChicago They drafted Joe Flacco in the 1st round to be their starter, plus they have Troy Smith. I think its safe to say they would not play JP over those two guys even if we gave him to them for free.
Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 BaltimoreChicago What purpose would it serve for Baltimore to bench Flacco after annointing him the starter, to throw in JP Losman as QB? And with Chicago, maybe Losman is a better QB than Orton or Grossman, but not if he's got two days to learn the offense. This isn't Madden here.

He's got some experience in Jauron's system and is familiar with the division from his time with the Pats. They'd have to pay him vested vet money, and guarantee him a full year's salary if they sign him after Opening Day.
BEAST MODE BABY! Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Looks like we're drafting a linebacker in the 1st round next year....uggg.
bills44 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Yesterday, Fine and Murphy were the only players who didn't practice. So how does Crowell go from practicing one day, to having arthroscopic surgery the next, and going on IR later that day?
