ORCHARD PARK – Tight end Derek Schouman was in full pads and working in practice today, good news for the Buffalo Bills who are thin at the position heading into Sunday’s regular-season opener against Seattle.

Rookie Derek Fine remains out with a left thumb injury, meaning Schouman is the only backup behind starter Robert Royal.

Schouman, a second-year pro, was pushing Royal for the starting job in training camp until suffering a knee injury. But today marked the second time this week he was able to practice in pads.

Backup linebackers Jon Corto (concussion) and John DiGiorgio (ribs), injured in last week’s final preseason game against Detroit, also returned to practice.

Offensive lineman Matt Murphy (rotator cuff) remained sidelined. He anticipates returning to practice next week and is expected to also fill in at tight end until Fine returns.

Starting Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters was not at practice again. He’s holding out for a new contract.

i can foresee corto being on the injury report w/ concussions, being a 208 lb linebacker and all

Heluva prediction there, seeing as he just was on the report w/ a concussion.

Got any tips on what I ate for dinner last night?

"Starting Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters was not at practice again. He's holding out for a new contract."

Why even bother adding this to the report?

Wait? Peters is holding out? Oh crap, why didn't any of you guys post this before now?!?!
