Steely Dan
I love Country Sweet sauce. Just made some chicken and I'm letting it soak in the hot variety. For those of you unfamiliar with this sauce it's often referred to as a "Rochester Sauce". It is hot and sweet at the same time. It's damn tasty. In college my brother swore it must have had something addicting, like cocaine, in the sauce. It comes with macaroni salad that is awesome with the sauce on it. They put bread on the bottom which soaks up some of the sauce. Anybody else in love with this sauce? I got this sauce at Wegmans the other day. Steely Dan
Is this something you can do with wings? looking for something different. Do you have a recipe? If you live in Rochester and maybe Buffalo or Syracuse you can get it at Wegmans. It comes from a restaurant in Rochester. I just looked to see if it was for sale on the internet. If you know someone who lives in Rochester they can probably send you some. Damn tasty.

Cheeseburger_in_paradise
Where'd you get that recipe? Originally from my brother, who got it from a friend who used to work at a restaurant in Rochester that served it. But when I couldn't get ahold of him, I googled "country sweet wings," and found a recipe that looked like what I remembered. I don't remember the lemon juice, but still sounds good to me. Google really is amazing.

I just looked to see if it was for sale on the internet. If you know someone who lives in Rochester they can probably send you some. Damn tasty. You can get it online from hotshoppe.com, an online store operating out of Syracuse, NY. They don't have a physical store you can visit, as far as I can tell. Kiwi Bills fan
I agree with you about this sauce. I've always been a huge fan of Sal's Sassy Sauce from Sal's Birdland. This is the same recipe and I can just put this stuff on just about anything.
ACor58
you guys are missing out. Uncle Ralph's is now the king of Rochester sauce. Try it and I promise you will love it. I could drink it straight from the bottle. http://www.uncleralphsmagicsauce.com/
Nanker
Country Sweet is a rip off of Smitty's. He was the original - who of course ripped it off somebody in NC.

I'm marinading some chicken in some Chiavettas I brought back from my trip to NY last week. I'm going to whip up a batch of this stuff and try it on the chicken tonight. My son and a buddy of his will be eating dinner at the house tonight, so regardless of the taste, I know the chicken will get eaten up pretty quickly. If I have some leftover sauce (which judging by the measurements I will) I may try it on ribs this weekend as well.
stuckincincy
What is prepared mustard? It has something to do with a speech by a politician already in office and not facing re-election for a couple of years.

I'll throw a few chicken legs in the stuff overnight and fire up the grill...Nothing better for chicken.

Chiavettas is a great marinade. I've been using a Wegmans made marinade called Mojo all summer. Outstanding!
