BF_in_Indiana
No, I agree with the post saying they are missing the character guys. They have too many Gary Shefields and not enough Derek Jeters.
VabeachBledsoefan
Yanks just missing the pitching , that's all it is. IMHO 78504 I just cannot celebrate yet...I want to but i wanna be sure....I do feel confident though
BillsFanNC
This Yankee team is a rotisserie team come to life. What they are missing are the players who played roles, but were huge in winning titles...like Scott Brosius and Paul O'Neill. Sure, Sheffield, A-Rod and Mussina are great players...but whose roles did they take? The Yankees of 2004 just don't have the role players who are important on just about every single championship team. Despite what some fans think, you NEED the players who do the dirty work, but who don't necessarily get the hype, in order to be successful. Mike 78501 What a great post. Greg de'Ville
Something I picked up in the latter stages of Game 4 and certainly in Game 5. These Yanks didn't have the killer instinct, they seemed very blase'. Perhaps the 19-8 verdict in Game 3 was the worst thing that happened to them because they thought it was going to be a 4-game walkover. Never got the "mo" back when Mo gave up that tying run in 9th in Game 4. If this score holds, it will be a modern-day Boston Massacre...in the Bronx! Greg de'Ville
...Sox have stranded 5 the last two innings (loaded in the 4th, 2 on in the 5th). You can't get enough against the 'Ghees.

BF_in_Indiana
I expect major changes in NY after this series if they go on to lose this game. They will certainly make some moves to improve their pitching and will make a pitch for Beltran.
Greg de'Ville
A 1-hitter going huh isnt it great. 78520 Steiner & Sterling pointed that out. Lowe has been superb on two days rest to this point. If he can go 6, the Sox will be in really in good shape.

GO SOX, it's all about HEART! 78521 You can't buy heart and passion and guts. We all know this to be true from watching our favorite football team. You either have these things (early 90s teams) or you don't (seemingly, the current edition). Mike
Greg de'Ville
Nothing across for Yanks in the 5th. 12 outs to go. A one-hitter for Lowe through 5. 8-1 Sox.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch
Why do the Sox batting helmets look like they got them used (for around 2 years) from some inner city little league program that has no money to replace them? Did they spend too much on Pedro instead? Is there some supistition behind replacing them??

ExiledInIllinois
Just got it wrong... Thought the Yanks would pull the 9-2 victory! To all the BoSox fans out there congrats (early), the better team is winning. Walks and HR will kill you. Not over yet. Not conceeding the game but, it seems over. I do need some sleep. Again, congrats and kudos... It is your time to shine...

Greg de'Ville
Uh-oh. Pedro's warming up. Why, Tito? Keep Lowe in unless say he gives up two baserunners to start the 6th. Then go to the pen.
MadBuffaloDisease
I think this has to rank right up there with one of THE biggest chokejobs in sports history. Being up 3-0 in the ALCS with the lead going into the 9th inning of game 4, and then losing the next 4 games. Unbelievable! Congrats to the Sox, but to truly exorcise "the curse," they need to win the WS.
