John from Riverside Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 The classness on this board by some people never seems to amaze me....... Taking the high road....I hope none of you actually come down with this kind of cancer.

Steely Dan Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Even Joe D, who openly clashed with Upshaw over the retired player issue, is mourning his loss: Bitter Rival Mourns Upshaw's Passing I hope whoever comes in takes care of retired players better.
IDBillzFan Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I'm very sorry to hear of Upshaw's passing. On the other hand, there's no need to listen to Sirius NFL today. And probably tomorrow.

Lori Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Ugh. A friend is fighting the same battle, and the prognosis is not good. All cancer is evil, but the pancreatic version is more lethal than most. Like Joe D, I strongly disagreed with some of Upshaw's rhetoric against the retired players ... but as someone who grew up loving those 1970s Raiders teams, today was tough. I'd heard the first whispers of this before I left for work this morning, but didn't put it on the main board because I couldn't confirm it -- and held out hope that it wasn't true. Rest easy, No. 63.
