Yeh, U see it starting now..on this board and with the swiftboat bozos for Bush crew. Recent lying, hateful racist diatribes against Obama form the basis for a widely discredited book Obama Nation. whatever it takes for the wacky right fringe I guess.

A discredited book? I'd never expect a regular Coast To Coast AM guest who believes in abiotic oil to make things up!

Want to get a lib mad? Tell the truth about them.

The Swift Boat vets told the truth, therefore "Swift-Boating"= telling the truth about someone.

Why don't you refute the "lies" in the book instead of attacking the author?

This new book has about 400 refrences from what I have heard. The author was expecting the smears from the left.

Care to tell me how they told the truth about Kerry, as opposed smearing him to the point of somehow making his Vietnam experiences look less honorable than Bush's?

And they should attack the smears because most of the book is a crock of schit

But if they really wanted to discredit the book they would attack the message instead of the messenger. However since some (no matter how little) of the message is true, they attack the messenger instead of the message.

I'm going off of memory of something somebody had told me but.....

2004 I worked with a guy who was a Vietnam Vet and a "Swift Boat Vet". I had worked with the guy before 2004 so I never had any reason to dispute his claims since he had brought up his past before Kerry was even running for President

He was an enlisted guy so he would have served "under Kerry". He never served directly under Kerry, but the Scuttlebutt (Navy terminology for "water cooler") about Kerry from those who were under Kerry was that you did not want to serve under him and if you did, then you were pretty much on your own

When the Swiftboat attack ads came out, he was not surprised

Believe it or not, it's up to you

What does Bush have to do with the situation? Stop mudding the waters to conceal the fact that you don't have a valid point.

Were the SBVT not Vietnam Vets? Why would they not be given the benefit of the doubt about the truth about experience over there? I'd say they are a lot more credible than editors at the NY Times or whoever else was trying to discredit them.

Ok that is actually the best explanation I have heard about this situation. However, the whole swiftboating of Kerry was from vets that for the most part did not work directly under him. That is why I question the whole situation the most. In addition, fellow vets like McCain came to Kerry's defense deploring those ads. Also, a few of the members of SBVT were on record saying that they thought he served the country well, but disagreed with actions after the war.

Again thanx for a good explanation as KD's answer was not too constructive nor informative.

Here you go, this does both.

What I find most intriguing, is that anyone on the right is willing to listen to a 9/11 conspiracy theorist.

And vice versa. I just saw an Obama commercial which loops McCain saying the economy looks ok, interposed with people telling you how rough it is. Of course, they don't tell you what year the McCain statement is from.

As for the racist diatribes, that's funny - the Obama campaign has a pretty consistent record of being the one to raise the issue whenever momemtum shifts against them, painting their opposition as racially motivated. Pretty much every attack (from calling his credentialess rise a fairy tale to comparing him to a vacuous celebrity) gets the charge, and as does every group (the elderly, poor whites, conservatives, etc) in which he runs poorly.

But at least the Obama ad is talking about an issue like the economy while McCain is playing bizarre ads starring Britney and Paris, whose dad by the way is a heavy McCain contributer. All the republiscum have come out now, Corsi, Floyd, etc. we're just waiting on O'Neil.

When patently false, discredited idiocy like Obama being raised a muslim is given creedence by the wacked out right wing media like Fox we should all be ashamed for not being able to discern the truth from bull. Even worse I guess is the idea the wacked out right republiCons continues to propagate that being of a different religion is somehow bad.

Par for the course for republiCons.

I thought you right wingers didn't believe anything written in books because the author was making money from the book? Scott McClellan anyone???? Richard Clarke anyone???? Paul O'Neil anyone???? I don't seem to remember conservatives "refuting the lies" and not attacking McClellan, O'Neil and Clarke's credibility? 400 "refrences"? I'd be more impressed if he had 400 "references" and the majority of them did not come from right wing blogs. Hell he may have even used PPP as one of his sources! By the way if you're interested Mr Corsi will be on the "Political Cesspool" radio show tonite, have you heard of them? Check out their forum, http://www.thepoliticalcesspool.org/forum.php, they're just a little racist aren't they?

Translation: Blah, blah, blah. Socialists good.

At least the Obama ad "is talking" about the economy? Well there's a high bar. Thank God for Tivo.

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! 90+ percent of Americans don't watch Fox News. For the life of me I cannot understand why you limp-wristed liberals can't use the 90% control you have of the media to your advantage. Perhaps you people just aren't as smart as you proclaim to be.

Par for the course for republiCons.

So is holding the Executive branch. You know, 24 out of the last 32 years.

But keep using the same tactics and wondering why they don't work. Welcome to liberalism's reality.
