John from Riverside
I like Steve T. better when the team is doing well...... He takes it personally when they do bad and you can hear the excitement in his voice when they are doing well......he is a bill through and through
TheMadCap
Living in the DC area and being FORCED to watch the whole game last week with Theismann and Patrick gave me new appreciation for Tasker and Bentley. OMG NO DOUBT. These two were doing the Bills-Skins game last week and were just awful. Of course, had I been a Foreskins fan, I would have probably appreciated it a bit more... In-A-Gadda-Levitre
when he said if you can be effective in the Red Zone, your whole game is going to be a lot better, I thought of Michael Keaton in Night Shift...Oh, that Barney Rubble. What an actor.
erynthered
The down and distance graphic was screwed up so much, I stopped paying attention to it. Did they get a bunch of summer interns to produce and direct? Probably Canadians. Did the distance graphic keep showing up in meters instead of yards? rockpile
I am fine with Tasker and Bentley. Think about listening to a Sunday or Monday Night broadcast with annoucers who know nothing about the Bills, and perhaps less about football. I think you would find a lot more to complain about than how they might pronounce a name like Ashton Youboty.
MikeInABQ
I think Bentley has improved greatly. Last night was for me a pleasant listening experience. It seems you're in the minority here, which makes sense, because those two announcers are terrible, any way you slice it. And please, Beerball, tell us more how angry you are that I have an opinion different than your own, OK? No, please, don't hold back, !@#$ head. I love when people I never met pick fights with me. Not a homer? Well you got that right! Tasker is either trying too hard to NOT be a homer, which is even MORE annoying, because he points out things that aren't even THERE to make the Bills look bad, or he's simply jealous that he's old and washed up. Either way, his demeanor is bad enough, but when you mix in his obvious lack of insight into the aspects of the game other than punt coverage, it's downright maddening to listen to. Please tell me these two morons aren't gonna cover the Bills games during the season.
Matt in KC
It seems you're in the minority here, which makes sense, because those two announcers are terrible, any way you slice it. Actually, if you read the responses more people were okay (or neutral) with the broadcast than disliked it. So you think Steve Tasker is a jerk, a moron, old and washed up, huh? I don't think you'll find anyone here to support you on at least the first couple claims. And your complaint is that he's too anti-Bills.... Do you realise your own hypocricy? He got so much wrong, and more annoyingly, he got it wrong in the Steelers' favor every time, and it only shows that he's trying to sound "credible", instead of just being himself. You guys see a man in Tasker that really shines when the Bills are doing well. Except the Bills WERE doing well, and he kept making it seem like he was either neutral about it or somehow annoyed by it. I'm just going by what I heard last night. I was furious by the Third Quarter. I don't have this lifelong hatred for Steve Tasker, I'm merely making an observation. The ones you say that "disagree" with me really don't. You're counting in the ones that hate every announcer or hate other guys more. That ain't fair.
Buftex
I think Bentley has improved greatly. Last night was for me a pleasant listening experience. I think Tasker has improved greatly, though he is still not my favorite (loved him as a player!) As for Bently, I guess I hadn't heard him a lot before, but I thouhgt he was pretty good. I posted this in another thread, but doesn't he sound remotely like Don Criqui? All in all, for what it is (an exhibition game, with a thrown together announcing crew) I thought it was palitable. Whining about Tasker saying that "McCkelvin might have gotten some help...", he was very quick to correct that it was, indeed, not a clip on the play. In case you don't remember, Tasker was an ace special teamer, he is part of the broadcast, to give his "expert" observations...he did that...in real time, I thought that might have been a clip too. MikeInABQ
LOL I get it, I get it. I should have read the Board rules before I posted, the one that states "If you're new here and you criticize anything at all, your statements will be dubbed as 'whining', and you will be flayed like a flounder for even daring to post your thoughts here in our midst." This place is funny!! I think I'll stay.
MikeInABQ
"Fixing" others posts is against Board rules, is it not? If it is allowed, though, I see alot of potential here.
