For all of my negative comments toward Trent thus far in his career. Tonight he looks amazing, nothing like I've ever seen out of the guy before. Forget what I said about him getting hurt please.

No need to take all the blame yourself. This board was overrun with "experts" last week all telling us how much insight they were able to gain from the first preseason game.

Looking like a complete idiot is difficult here because it's a very crowded field.

If a guy getting hurt benefits the team, shouldn't you want it to happen as a fan?

You're actually serious, aren't you?

No, I don't think I'll be forgetting this any time soon.

Yeah, it's just a game, dude. Injuries can take away someone's livelihood - causing them to earn a living like the rest of us [only half joking]. Injuries could also rob people of pursuing their dream and their career. No one wants to see this.

I want the Bills to win. Period. If that means having a teamful of thugs or having guys get hurt, then so be it.

I wouldn't go around wishing folk bodily harm, it doesn't cut it around here, believe me, I know from experience

I kinda hope you get hit by a car. You know, so you understand why everyone thinks you're an idiot for wishing injury on someone else.

Hey...if it helps the board, I'm all for it. Wonder if he needs a nudge off the curb...

I want the board to be a better place. Period. If that means me leaving or having myself get hurt, then so be it.

Seconded.

So you guys would rather the Bills fail than their qb gets hurt? Makes you guys sound like your wives moreso than hardcore football fans.

If "hardcore" means thinking a freaking GAME is more important than someone's health, then count me the hell out.

Takes a man to admit when he was wrong. This board, just like every other message board in existence, is sorely lacking those types. Kudos to the OP, and I concur. I never wished Trent would lose the starting job because personally I didn't like JP that much, either, but I, too, after last week's debacle of a game, thought the team hadn't really made that many strides in the right direction. Tonight's game showed me that they really might have, and I'm definitely happy to eat crow if my comments last week were taken as "doomsday" statements by the blowhards, experts, and eternal optimists here. Mmmmm, crow, tastes good. And there's plenty, seeing that I'm one of like three people here man enough to grab some when we are shown up. And !@#$ you if you have something negative to say to me now, Biscuitboy.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

I severely disliked Flutie when he was here but I never wished physical harm on the man. You are no Bills fan if you want a player on the team injured due to your selfish pride.

Sorry don't cut it here m8.

I still support JP but I'm a team player and really hope Trent does well. I want to win so bad it's not funny.

I'll take this sentence by sentence:

Me too.

It does not make me an idiot for wanting trent to get hurt because:

1.) he was starting and i thought he was second best on the team

Newsflash: there's a whole group of people whose full time job is to evaluate the Bills players. They are called coaches and they know a lot more than an idiot like you.

It does not make me an idiot for wanting trent to get hurt because:

2.) jauron would not change his decision whether or not he actually thought JP was better

How do you know? What gives you this amazing insight into the way he thinks? Have you ever even met the man? Arrogance and stupidity is a bad combo dude. You should stick to one or the other.

I have football knowledge because:

1.) Regardless of whether or not this is Trent's second year, he is the starting qb of this team, and we all expect playoffs. Making excuses for the guy will not help us get to the playoffs, 2nd year or not.

How exactly does stating your opinion = "football knowledge"?

Also, please explain how you will make this year 2 evaluation on your playoff expectations if he's hurt.

Disclaimer: Everything above were my thoughts before. I now think that Trent definitely looks like a starter.

This statement makes you an even bigger idiot than you were already. Yesterday you want the guy injured but now based on a couple of pre-season series you have completely reversed your opinion and now support him as the starter?? Way to stick to that "football knowledge" you so clearly displayed above. :)

Thanks, but we don't need anymore bandwagon a-holes around here.

btw, for those of you giving this d-bag credit, "eating crow" does not equal "manning up"

Props to you for saying your wrong but you dont have to apologize. its a message board we come here to voice our opinions, everyone here wants to see the Bills play well, we may have different ideas of how it should be done but were all bills fans and want the best for our team.

I was worried after watching Edwards last week. They looked lost on offense and i was worried he was not progressing the way we needed him to. Last night he looked like a completly different QB and i was thrilled watching it. I want to see last night every week from him. Im not yet ready to say Trent is the savior but he did make me feel better lst night. I just want consistency from him and this team will be a force

Looks like I'll go sentence by sentence again.

Newsflash: there's a whole group of people whose full time job is to evaluate the Bills players. They are called coaches and they know a lot more than an idiot like you.

1st of all I'd like to congratulate you on your sarcasm. Your hilarious. Now as to football, I truly don't trust the coaches to start the best players. I saw all preseason last year and in previous years that Greer was a good player worthy of a shot at playing time, but the only time Dick put him in was when he had no other choice. Try showing me that Jason Webster of last year was anywhere near as good as Greer please. Same idea with Jackson.

I saw the Bills come out in a 1 CB formation yesterday, and it was McGee. Why? Greer is 100 times better. I don't need to have a full time job to see that kind of thing, I just need to watch the Bills play.

How do you know? What gives you this amazing insight into the way he thinks? Have you ever even met the man? Arrogance and stupidity is a bad combo dude. You should stick to one or the other.

You cannot even begin to think that Jauron would just come out and change his opinion on a thing like that. No, I have never met the guy, but I've still followed the guy enough to know his ways. Anyone could tell you greer is better than webster, but even though he must have seen it, he didn't change anything.

How exactly does stating your opinion = "football knowledge"?

Also, please explain how you will make this year 2 evaluation on your playoff expectations if he's hurt.

I guess that I wasn't really showing football knowledge there, but that was the only way to respond. And I didn't want to make a year 2 evaluation on the guy if he sucks and I'd rather see JP.

This statement makes you an even bigger idiot than you were already. Yesterday you want the guy injured but now based on a couple of pre-season series you have completely reversed your opinion and now support him as the starter?? I always knew Trent had the physical ability. Never ever doubted that. The problem is, the only thing I ever thought he could do was check down or throw it about 3-4 yds. Last night, he looked ready and confident to throw it just about anywhere he wanted. That's all I was ever looking for out of the guy, the mental ability to truly tear apart a defense. That's all I needed to see, and I saw it.

Thanks, but we don't need anymore bandwagon a-holes around here.

I'm nothing near a bandwagoner. Would a bandwagoner care about preseason whatsoever or just brush it off as preseason? I really have no need to prove myself as a fan to you though.

btw, for those of you giving this d-bag credit, "eating crow" does not equal "manning up"

Btw, for those of you who think you're really cool and knowledgeable, just ripping on me for my completely 100% valid points does not equal you being smarter.

As it is today with "experts" of the insight they have from a second exhibition game

lol

You nailed it. Trent's only had one such "game" and it was only two series. When he strings three or four games even remotely close to that together then we can start talking about how good he is.

Most people here obviously have no idea that most QBs have a few good days sprinkled here and there. RJ did. Holcomb did. Hobert did. Van Pelt did.

None of them did it on a regular basis though and that's what's important. Two series in preseason with no other such play is definitely encouraging, but hardly a trend. And Polamalu was out too and where did Trent's two TD passes go, Royal. The guy that Polamalu probably would have had. Who was taking his place. (rhetorical)

It's a funny thing though, one game of a couple series like this and it's "see I told you so," and apologies about being wrong, and all kinds of other stuff in a message board lovefest, but four or five games of garbage play means nothing.

That's where the amusement kicks in.
