JK2000 Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Oooh boy, that must mean we can't do both, right? Our only options are to do one or the other. Last time I checked Obama said he was open to offshore drilling.
SilverNRed Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Your post (in true McCain campaign fashion) mocked Obama mentioning the inflation of tires. I guess you still mock the idea that works. For the 1000th time, no one....in the history of the world.......has ever advocated not having properly inflated tires. So when Obama or his supporters say "now John McCain agrees", that's completely disingenuous. Second, no matter how much you fudge the numbers, properly inflated tires do not make up for "all the oil" that people want to drill for in American territory. Not even if you make the absurd assumption that every single car in the United States has deflated tires.
Chilly Posted August 14, 2008 Author Posted August 14, 2008 Ok, who ever said anything about enforcing it? Jesus take it for what it was a simple statement that clearly pointed to the fact that if people inflated their tires properly - that action could help out with gas consumption. So again, how it wrong to say that? that if people inflated their tires properly it would help out with gas consumption. "We can save all the oil that they would save on drilling if everyone was just inflating their tires, and getting regular tune-ups, we could actually save just as much". Also, you are against drilling for oil because it wouldn't cause all that much dent in oil prices, yet that argument doesn't apply to the effects of gas consumption from tire inflation?
Chilly Posted August 14, 2008 Author Posted August 14, 2008 Last time I checked Obama said he was open to offshore drilling. Good for him.
