Man, that's rough. He was definitely funny and another who's now gone. All the money and everything else mean nothing now. Hope Bernie was saved.

Didn't enjoy his brand of comedy too much, but what a sad story. He was only fifty years old; that's much too young. I do hope his family and friends handle it okay, it looks like a hell of a surprise.

I had the good fortune to meet Bernie once, one of the few celebs I spoke more than three words to. He was unbelievably cool, centered and took time to help me out when everyone else was looking the other way.

I was stunned when I saw the news report this morning (10,000 feet in the air -- Jet Blue tv). Losing Carlin and Mac in the same year is a tough pill to swallow.

RIP, Mr. Mac.

That is a shame. I really liked him in Mr. 3000 and Ocean's Eleven.

I saw an article on Yahoo about 10 days ago saying that his health was bad...he was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, which is a chronic lung disease. He'd had it for years, but it apparently flared up recently. I can't help but think this led to the pneumonia that killed him.

RIP, Bernie.

Saved from what? A slowly declining career?

And if he wasn't? (sorry, couldn't resist)
