SD Jarhead
What is our Federal Gov't doing about this? Nothing... Freaking disgusting. http://washingtontimes.com/news/2008/aug/0...-guns-to-agent/ At least the news made it out of Texas. Hopefully this won't get buried in all the 'tire inflation issue' chatter. Steely Dan
IMO if a soldier of another country enters ours with hostile intent that's an act of war and these soldiers can be killed on the spot.

That would be nice, but it's never gonna happen as long as we have gutless turds running our country. But at least one sub-human Mexican died today. Thank God for Texas. Nanker
No War for Drugs™ Wait, isn't that why we invaded Afghanistan - to get control of their opium? I thought that's what made Bush so unpopular. No more heroin.

If I'm not mistaken, opium production in Afghanistan is at an all time high.

Fastback
I know this is quickly degrading into another subject, but I have an uncle who is a retired Cheif Patrol Agent (Sector Chief) who still works with the B. Patrol as a consultant. I spoke with him this morning and he said this is happening regularly but the the dickheads in Washington are ignoring it, chosing to look the other way. Because this is an election year and the politicians are standing in line to fellatiate hispanic voters and will do nothing. Nice...

Ask him how much of the gun fire involves drug running vs people smuggling. I have an idea, but would be interested in his reply. blzrul
It is very bad when one country's military enters another country. I am outraged.
Steely Dan
Even if those soldiers are acting on their own without sanction from their country? I'm saying that it can be interpreted as an act of war and that they can be shot without much provacation and even the military can be used against them. I'm not saying we should declare war on Mexico just that there is no reason we couldn't bomb those soldiers if necessary.
finknottle
Even if those soldiers are acting on their own without sanction from their country? It is ironic that if the soldiers are acting under orders they can be killed on the spot, but if they are acting on their own - moonlighting by escorting drugs across the border while in uniform, say - it would be an infringement of their civil rights. And isn't it racial profiling to stop somebody in a Mexican military uniform without a reason?

Actually, there is reason we couldn't bomb them - either they're in Mexico, and bombing Mexico would be an act of war, or they're in the US, and bombing them would be a violation of posse comitatus. Personally? Since they're not enemy soldiers (since we're not at war with Mexico), but acting as private citizens undertaking a private invasion of the US...I'd capture them and send 'em to Gitmo. Nah, I'd capture them and make them watch the news all day, and then listen to blzrul or KellyDog talk to them about Obama all night. You'd probably have to put them on suicide watch by the third day of that. Hey, we could use the same thing for terrorists, and not have to worry about any potential treaty violations. j/k blzurl/kelly

You want to break them? Put 'em in front of the 700 Club 24x7x365. They won't last the 365. Or make them listen to "Butterfly Kisses" a few thousand times. The Coast Guard is exempt from that so put the coast guard on border patrol. Also, what the are they going to do about it? If a large contingent of Mexican Army officers came into Texas and attacked a city I think the police and other forces could do what they can to stave them off until the army could get there. I see it as no different large or small contingent.
