ExiledInIllinois Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Buffalo is a great example that you can only tax business so much before they leave. Anyone wonder why businesses are leaving the US? They are taxing up the butt in Chicago... Are companies leaving in droves... Heck, Chicago may even get the Olympics in 12 years. Sure I think low taxes help and yes, you can just cut the system off that has been in place... But, at what greater cost. It is all about location... If you don't have it, you are sh*t out of luck. Let all the businesses leave... Let's see what happens...
ExiledInIllinois Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Bull. Chicago continues to exist because of the Exchange that is there - if it weren't it'd have hit the crapper too. Taxes are a huge part of what has killed Buffalo. And that Exchange is in place because of it's geographical location first an foremost... Just like NYC... BFLO being made irrelevant geographically is the biggest part of what killed it. Taxes are the easy scapegoat... They came with the collapse.
