H2o
The guy holds trade value for sure and I'm certain we can get atleast a 1st round pick along with a second middle round pick for the guy. More than likely a 1st and 3rd or a 1st and 4th. Here's a list of the best players that the NCAA will have to offer at the Tackle position this coming draft: 1. Andre Smith, Alabama (Junior) 2. Michael Oher, Ole Miss 3. Ciron Black, LSU (Junior) 4. Alex Boone, Ohio State 5. Phil Loadholt, Oklahoma 6. Max Unger, Oregon 7. Eugene Monroe, Virginia 8. Ryan Stanchek, West Virginia 9. Adam Ulatoski, Texas (Junior) 10. George Bussey, Louisville 11. Andrew Gardner, Georgia Tech 12. Dallas Reynolds, BYU 13. Eben Britton, Arizona (Junior) 14. Chris Young, Tennessee (Junior) 15. Sean Sester, Purdue 16. Xavier Fulton, Illinois 17. Russell Okung, Oklahoma State (Junior) 18. Sam Young, Notre Dame (Junior) 19. Garrett Reynolds, North Carolina 20. Marlon Winn, Texas Tech (Junior) 21. Scott Burley, Maryland 22. Eric VandenHeuvel, Wisconsin 23. Dace Richardson, Iowa 24. Andrew Hartline, Central Michigan 25. Lydon Murtha, Nebraska Now granted that some of these guys are only Juniors and would have to declare of course, but this is the best of the class going into this year in NCAA Football. With one of the draft picks we could get for Peters we could draft one of these guys. There is also a decent FA class coming after this season. We could get a Tra Thomas, Mark Tauscher, or a John Stinchcomb, along with drafting one of the above mentioned players, and allow them to develope a couple of years. Plus, you never know who will be a cap casualty at the end of this season. Could be some other OT's on the list. I think we all would rather have a happy, healthy Peters playing LT. But as Mick Jagger has stated time and time again, "You can't always get what you want, no you can't always get what you want......but if you try sometimes you just might find.......You get what you need." silvermike
What do we get if we trade Peters, end up with a top-5 pick, and take the best tackle on the board? Somebody who will get paid as much as/more than what Petey wants, except with the possibility that they'll go bust in the NFL (see Gallery, Robert). We don't have to take the top 5 pick. We could trade down for even more picks just as the Patriots always seem to be able to do and still get a quality prospect for the future. Although, I'd say Oher is a lock to be a GOOD LT in this league for years to come barring serious injury. He draws comparison to Orlando Pace. He's a 6'5", 325lb. OT who moves well and is a GOOD pass blocker. He's a solid run blocker as well and gets down the field showing a good burst.

Matt in KC
that pick in next year's draft will sure help alot in 2008 to help protect our QB Don't worry, if not having a solid LT kills Trent this year, we can always use our top draft pick to grab a sure-fire QB to start over with. At the risk of being called a non-fan, the Bills have used their last 4 first round picks to do exactly what you are talking about. That is policy. Beside the bust factor, what is really deflating is having to wait 2-3 years for these guys to develop up to the level of the guys they are replacing. John Adams
Michael Oher is the subject of a great read: The Blind Side. Compelling football/personal story book about how Oher got a shot at life because a few kind people took note of him.

PromoTheRobot
People here make so many assumptions like they are carved in stone tablets somewhere, such as the Bills will desperately trade Peters, or that Peters will somehow remain highly valuable after sitting out a year and coming off surgery. It just shows how much people treat this like just another fantasy league instead of the real NFL. PTR
Bleed Bills Blue
Don't worry, if not having a solid LT kills Trent this year... Yes, no worries there, for He will surely rise from the dead in three days and lead the team to ultimate victory.
Bill from NYC
If the Bills do trade Jason Peters for a first round pick, the Bills will draft two of the following players in Round 1: Malcolm Jenkins - OSU Myron Rolle - Fla. St. Taylor Mays - USC Vontae Davis - Ill. William Moore - Missouri Kam Chancellor - Va. Tech. If not, it will be only one of them.

BillsCelticsAngelsBama
If Peters is traded and Evans walks, what a statement about our organization that would make. We would be the Oakland A's of football. It won't happen. I am anxiously awaiting the first thread about how "I hope we don't blow a high draft pick by winning a meaningless regular season game and thus blowing our chances at Michael Oher in the 2009 Draft".
