Here's my Training Camp Report from 7/25/08 PM

Recommended Posts

It's finally here! The Buffalo Bills Training Camp has officially begun. There are two practices today, as it was the 1st of 2 double session practices. I was there for the afternoon. As usual, the players were not wearing any pads, as Dick Jauron likes to get them started with light contact drills when Training Camp opens. They worked on a few special teams drills, individual drills with their own units, 7-on-7 and of course the 11-on-11 full team drill.

The team started out with the usual individual drills. The Quarterbacks worked on some passing drills, the receivers practice their routes and the tight ends and offensive linemen work on blocking. On the other side of the field, the defense split up into their individual units. The team worked on these drills for a little while until the horn sounded and then Bobby April called the special teams together. In midfield, he worked with the special teams unit on kickoff coverage. Seeing how many of the veteran leaders from the special teams unit is gone, Bobby April has a bit more work to do than usual. He was explaining where the lanes are and had them practice returning kicks.

Following the special teams drill, the team worked on 7-on-7 passing drills, while the lines practiced blocking. Trent Edwards was very sharp as he completed his first 10 passes. He started out the day by hitting Derek Schouman for 5 yards. Then he found Lee Evans, who made a nice leaping catch for 10-yards. Next Trent hit Evans for 6-yards, followed by a nice pass to Evans again for 17-yards. He then threw a screen pass to Marshawn Lynch for 4-yards. Edwards finished the series with a pass to Josh Reed for 6-yards. JP Losman came in and went for the bomb right away. He threw a nice pass, but Roscoe Parrish dropped it. Losman then felt the pressure and threw it incomplete. Next, he hit Courtney Anderson for 8-yards. JP then went to James Hardy for 9-yards. CB Will James had good coverage on him and tackled him right away. Losman finished the series off with a screen to Xavier Omon for 3-yards.....................

Great job, as usual, sir. Thanks again. Sounds like you need to fold the program into a fan while you're sitting on the school bus.

ROFL! That's a good idea. The program is cheap, so it would fold nicely. The biggest problem with the buses is not the heat, but rather how tiny they are. I'm 6'4 and it's so uncomfortable trying to sit in those crappy seats.
