Kelly the Dog
This is what will very likely happen with Peters, too. I predict it may be about a week or two though. Then he will say he is doing this for his team and teammates, making a sacrifice for them.
Ramius
Hester ran his mouth, but when push came to shove, he realized he was losing 15K per day on a 445K yearly salary. Even holcombs arm can see that the math doesnt add up, and that hester would be in camp sooner rather than later. As LABillz said yesterday, when it comes to holdouts, money is undefeated. scribo
I have to think, even with as much money as these guys make, losing $15,000 a day has to really wear on one's nerves.
d_wag
peters is making a huge mistake.....i hope the bills hold firm and actually follow through on the fines, unlike many teams who end up waiving them when the player returns......they need to make a statement that these actions won't be tolerated
bobinaz
It's interesting to see that Peters and Hester has the same agent. Hopefully Peters will follow suit and get his a$$ on the field. If we have any chance to make a serious run for the post season, Peters needs to be there. TE won't survive with Walker or Chambers at LT.
d_wag
it should be noted that hester's situation differs from peters - he needed to show up by august 5th or he would have not received credit for the season peters technically can report in week 10 and receive credit for the season (although he'll face heavy daily fines and the loss of 10/16th's of his salary, not to mention the bills can pursue a portion of his signing bonus for failure to live up to the terms of the agreement)

Right now, he is only the kick returner specialist. Meanwhile, Peters is entrenched in his starting job.
Rubes
Awesome comment at the bottom of that article in response: Hooray for #23 reporting to camp. Gee, another well-timed and enlightening article Moronotti you complete and total bumbling idiot. Glad to see you were once again too busy sucking off shemales to notice that the garbage you write isn't even valid a couple hours after it gets printed. Congratulations, I wish I had aborted you all those years ago. Love, Mom
billybob
People probably thought I was being sarcastic the first time I said it but I think Peters should go the Schobel route - let people know your unhappy and probably won't be able to play well with this mental burden ie threaten to dog it if you're not taken care of- this cost you no money- is actually more annoying than holding out. Lori
Awesome comment at the bottom of that article in response: This must be the piece he's referring to: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/mariotti/10...i072408.article Did you know ... on one of his rare appearances in a Chicago-area press box earlier this summer, Mariotti called security because one of his colleagues wanted to discuss a recent column he'd written? He does not play well with others ... Sun-Times colleagues go after Jay Mariotti Deadspin: Jay Mariotti needs protection from that inquisitive Rick Telander Telander might be older, but he also played college football. I know who my money's on.
John from Riverside
I would really just like to be a fly on the wall while this is all being discussed behind the scenes.....I have mixed feelings on the Peters camp not saying anything to the media so it can get leaked out to the fans..... - I respect the fact that he isn't playing media politics - I hate the fact that no excuse is being made that we can hear about as fans The way bills mgt is making it sound Peters camp is just not saying anything.......how the heck to you negotiate from that? Bills have no interest in opening a dialogue since they have already made their position clear to the Peters camp back in Jan - no more money this year. DanInSouthBuffalo
WGR was reporting this afternoon that an extension for Lee Evans could happen ASAP. If so, Peters loses more leverage.
