GG Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 He had his hands in his pockets for !@#$s sake. What kind of body language is that? Ask the style counsel.
olivier in france Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 What kind of body language is that? For a professional person is comes accross as lack of confidence, disinterest, boredom. well it could also mean decontraction, confidence, that he was comfortable, happy to be there... that's the thing with those "body language" and other communication "sciences" you always can spin it the way you want to!
Chef Jim Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 well it could also mean decontraction, confidence, that he was comfortable, happy to be there... that's the thing with those "body language" and other communication "sciences" you always can spin it the way you want to! I agree and that's why I said this: Nope. Walking around with your hands in your pockets to me is very undignified and very unprofessional. Maybe that's just me being old fashioned.
Chilly Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Yes, with his hands in his pockets to me he does. Only if you completely ignore the rest of his body language. Ask the style counsel. lol, awesome
Peter Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 In breaking news, the German people have just elected Barack Obama as Chancellor of Germany to replace Angela Merkel. Brian Williams, Katie Couric, and Charlie Gibson immediately asked Chancellor Obama why he would want to be Chancellor of Germany rather than President of the United States. Chancellor Obama responded by assuring the media throng that he was still running for President of the United States and that his experience as a community organizer in Chicago would enable him to perform both positions without any problems. Chris Matthews sighed in relief when he heard that Chancellor Obama would still be running for President and was overheard saying that the “thrill going up my leg” had returned. In sports today, the Chicago Bulls have signed Chancellor/President Obama to be their 3-point specialist.
Chef Jim Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Only if you completely ignore the rest of his body language. lol, awesome Listen my point is simple. In my mind if you want to come accross as professional, you don't walk with your hands in your pockets. That's how I feel, that's the feeling I had when I saw that picture. If you feel otherwise and I'm the only one that feels that way I could really care less.
Cheeseburger_in_paradise Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I heard that, instead of saying “Ich bein Berliner,”Obama told the crowd: “Ich bein Beginner.“ At least he did not repeat JFK's mistake of saying that he is a jelly doughnut. The famous "I am a Berliner" speach. Wouldn't be sweet if Obama should tried that one in Frankfurt Germany.
/dev/null Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I heard that, instead of saying “Ich bein Berliner,”Obama told the crowd: “Ich bein Beginner.“ At least he did not repeat JFK's mistake of saying that he is a jelly doughnut. Or Ich bein Amerikaner
/dev/null Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Meanwhile I'm expecting a speech from McCain, where the Ancient Mariner will say he was one of the first ones to call for the surge of airlifts to Berlin. Usually I just read your trolling and soon forget whatever it was that you tried to say But that bit about the Ancient Mariner got this song running thru my head http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRGmwSBufKo Thanks

Peter Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Very original. Thanks. By the way, when a sentence begins "I heard", that typically means that the rest originated from someone else.
blzrul Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Thanks. By the way, when a sentence begins "I heard", that typically means that the rest originated from someone else. "Some say" is another one of my favorites. Translation is "I'm making it up" but it's amazing how many people believe whatever it that follows. Some say that indicates extreme stupidity on behalf of the American people.
Cheeseburger_in_paradise Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I heard part of the speach. It really wasn't Kennedy-ish. It was more Reagan-ish. It was about knocking down walls. The media didn't even pick up on that. Oh but they are not biased. Mean while back at the ranch, McCain is rising in the polls.

It was more like how many references can I cram in to other great speeches. It was about how bad America is. Typical leftist tripe.

He certainly isn't rising in Colorado, Virginia, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, New Mexico, and Iowa.

/dev/null Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 He certainly isn't rising in Colorado, Virginia, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, New Mexico, and Iowa. Neither is Obama McCain is rising in the polls. Not really. Obama's numbers are just coming down after his post-nomination bounce
elegantelliotoffen Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Neither is Obama Really? http://www.pollster.com/
/dev/null Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Really? http://www.pollster.com/ That electoral tabulation has Obama at 297. A week or two ago I saw one that had him at 320 Thanks for proving my point
