The pickup technique is just to stand near the bar in a crowded spot and start talking loudly, about nothing in particular. You should see the women flock when they hear the accent. Been to Darwin Australia a few times and it's completely opposite there. Austalian women will leave an Aussie dude on the dance floor cold to talk to an American. It was quite amusing actually.... When they found out we were from California (Hollywood!!!) I was afraid I'd have to beat them off of her with a stick. Distracted them with some Fosters.
