silvermike
Is he leaving the News? He was one of the good ones in that pit of Sullivans and Gleasons.

Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail
He was great as the Sabres beat guy. Nothing against John Vogl - I don't know him that well - but his articles seem very formulaic. Glad to see him doing well.
Lori
I love how the talented BN writers go on to bigger and better things, and guys like....oh, why even bother. From everything I've heard, The News is a great place to work compared to most of the chain newspapers. (For example, the aforementioned PBPost is currently in the process of whacking between 25-40 percent of the newsroom staff.) So if someone like Graham wants an NFL beat, he either waits out Gaughan and Wilson -- which could take a long, long time, since neither is anywhere near retirement age -- or packs his bags and moves on. Case in point: Keith McShea's 2007 Daytona recap garnered him a top-10 mention in the APSE national writing awards, but he still covers mostly preps for The News. I have no doubt he could work a bigger beat somewhere else, but with more shops firing than hiring these days, he might be better off staying put and keeping a steady paycheck. Just my opinion ...
