For whatever reason, as good as it is, "The Wire" just never seemed to catch on with enough people to make an impact. It is, for the most part, a popularity contest after all. Of course that doesn't explain "Mad Men"...It looks like "Friday Night Lights" got snubbed too. Too bad. It's amazing how many great shows and performances are snubbed year in and year out. Also the rewarding of shows for their longevity instead of quality. I will never forget how shows like "ER", and "The West(Left)Wing", were constantly praised and showered with nominations galore.
