stuckincincy Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I believe that insect could be squashed for five hundred bucks cash.
Chef Jim Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 The guy should be hailed as a hero. Shutting down the government is always a good thing.
PromoTheRobot Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 One guy can bone an entire city This is scary yet hilarious. This geek has the entire city government by the balls. I wonder if they would consider waterboarding to get the passwords? PTR
taterhill Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 The search button is your friend. so he is supposed to go though every vaguely titled thread to see if this is a repeat.....
Wacka Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 This will probably make SF government work better! I just heard on the local news that he is still getting his salary even though he is locked up!
Bmwolf21 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 so he is supposed to go though every vaguely titled thread to see if this is a repeat..... One of my pet peeves on message boards. Vaguely titled threads (like "Wow" or "Did you see this?") followed by someone calling other people out for re-posting the same story. indeed...
Fezmid Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Either the story is poorly written (likely) or the rest of the IT admins there are complete morons (also likely). There's always a way to gain access if you have physical access to a system.
TheMadCap Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 so he is supposed to go though every vaguely titled thread to see if this is a repeat..... Shoot, even IF you find the correct thread, there might be TWO actual on-topic posts. Oh dang...
JinVA Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Shoot, even IF you find the correct thread, there might be TWO actual on-topic posts. Oh dang... Duel.

What then, HUH, smart guy?

Then you have the vendor send you a new machine and restore the backups onto it, shipping the bomb-laden server to the vendor or the bomb squad.
Chilly Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Then you have the vendor send you a new machine and restore the backups onto it, shipping the bomb-laden server to the vendor or the bomb squad. Governments don't do backups.
KD in CA Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I just heard on the local news that he is still getting his salary even though he is locked up! Of course! He's got his full union protection that those San Fran "progressives" are soooo proud of. Couldn't happen to a dumber city.
buckeyemike Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Of course! He's got his full union protection that those San Fran "progressives" are soooo proud of. Couldn't happen to a dumber city. So true.
