zow2
Did you hear about those two guys that got nearly decapitated on the way to the Washington Nationals baseball game over the weekend? So messed up! They were with a corporate party on the top of an open air double decker bus. They apparently were standing on the seats when the bus goes under a bridge and BAM! Can you imagine the horror of that scene? OMG- the Nationals and that bus company are going to be SO sued by the families. Witnesses who have taken the bus claim you could almost touch the bottom of the bridge if you raised your hand while seated. That was not a safe mode of transportation for that route especially when it's a bunch of half drunk fans on the bus. One of the guys was featured in the Washington Post yesterday and was only 24 and about to be married. Sad stuff. Bad year for the Nats on and off the field. http://canadianpress.google.com/article/AL...vOwKR8rF7b0Zgwg http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,381266,00.html

Standing up while going under same bridge is not. Score one for the bus company.
LongLiveRalph
So the people who weren't standing on their seats were fine? Got it, thanks. Let's sue the bus company and the Nationals, because personal responsibility is out the window when you're drunk!!!!

BuffaloBud
My question is why sue the Nationals? Did they sponsor the trip? If not, I don't see how they can be involved. I just now read the Canadian Press article. It did mention that the team sub-ed out the shuttle service.

If there was no game that day, none of this would've happened!!! yahoo answers Currently, Katy Feeney, a senior vice president in the Commissioner's Office is in charge of scheduling. I'm sure she has assistance. From 1980 to 2003 it was Henry and Holly Stephenson of Massachusetts that were contracted by Major League Baseball to manually produce the schedule each year. Here is an article on MLB.com describing the effort of putting the schedule together; http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=... * 1 year ago Source(s): MLB.com

apuszczalowski
How is this a sad story? Sure 2 guys died, but if you are dumb enough to stand up on some seats on a open air double decker bus, you deserve what happens too you. And being drunk is no excuse. The Bus is responsible in getting you from point A to point B, not in making sure that you are behaving yourself and acting like an adult

John from Riverside
My opinion is there are so many people suing when they themselves are at fault that it hurts the whole system and those who truly deserve to be compensated get the shaft.
