Buffan00 Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 OK..make this short..neighbor has a terrier of some sort that she lets out and it barks at us non-stop until she is let back in (about an hr at a time) We are in an upscale neighborhood, but no HOA..ive tried saying something to her, but she says she HAS to let the dog out. The other night we had friends over and ate out on the deck, and then she let the damn dog out and it barked NON STOP until we said hell with it lets go in! Do whistles work? What does one do in this situation???

KD in CA Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 1. dog whistle and blast him everytime he opens his yap 2. call animal control or whoever is in charge of nuisance laws 3. get a shotgun (for the owners, not the dog).

What does one do in this situation??? Kentucky has "upscale" neighborhoods????
Fan in Chicago Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Is she hot ? Is that her in the avatar ? B word ...
Fan in San Diego Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Petco has a sonic pet trainer. It has a negative and positive button. When the dog barks zap it with the negative sound. Unaudible to humans. I use it to train my yappy dogs and it works great.
MattyT Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Kentucky has "upscale" neighborhoods???? Apparently you missed the part where he said that they have a deck.
outsidethebox Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Kentucky has "upscale" neighborhoods???? Hey, it's the nicest trailer in the park.
Draft Maniac Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Blame the owner not the dog. She needs to train her dog period.
WellDressed Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I would throw him a milk bone covered in peanut butter; that should shut 'em up for a while!!
Fezmid Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 2. call animal control or whoever is in charge of nuisance laws This is the correct answer. Next time you're out and the dog's barking non-stop, call the non-emergency police number and tell them about it. If they're not the right people to talk to, they should be able to point you in the right direction.
Buffan00 Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 Hey, it's the nicest trailer in the park. Easy there, your cuttin' deep!

Nanker Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 You've obviously done a piss-poor job of marking your territory. I suggest you down a fifth or more of Kentucky's finest and (irrespective of the time of day/night) go about "marking" your property line. All the better if the little yapster is out there. You might be able to give the little dog/B word a golden shower.
thebug Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Have you tried gasoline and a match? if that doesn't work douse the dog as well.
