mead107 Posted July 3, 2008 Author Posted July 3, 2008 Ihop took over the Denny's in Clifton Park and they just built one in Schenectady .
Wacka Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Denis Leary- Coffee NSFW (F' bombs- as if I had to tell you).)
inkman Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Can't miss what you never had. Nearest one is in Jamestown, an hour and a half away. Do you travel or are you a hermit?
stevestojan Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Denis Leary- Coffee NSFW (F' bombs- as if I had to tell you).) AWESOME. On a side note, I love my coffee, but seriously, roasting your own beans? Come on. . . You guys need a hobby THAT badly?
The Tomcat Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Can't miss what you never had. Nearest one is in Jamestown, an hour and a half away. I went there the other day and there were 5 employees for 2 customers....... I'm just a simpleton....I just like plain ol' black coffee.
KD in CA Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 I went there the other day and there were 5 employees for 2 customers....... And it probably still took them 5 minutes to get you a cup of coffee. Starbucks always seems to have as inefficient a process as possible when I go there.
BillsPride12 Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Lol does anyone remember that episode of South Park where "Harbucks" is trying to shut Tweak's dad out of business, I''ve been thinking about that this whole thread, classic episode.
Lori Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Do you travel or are you a hermit? 1500 miles on the car since June 21. Passed several Starbucks, I'm sure. But since there isn't one near enough to help me develop an addiction to their products, why bother stopping?
RayFinkle Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 600 stores to shut down . Will you miss it if one of the stores is near you ? DD is better . You live in New York and don't even mention Tim Hortons?
mead107 Posted July 6, 2008 Author Posted July 6, 2008 You live in New York and don't even mention Tim Hortons? We have no Tim Hortons around this area of NY . I like stewarts coffee for the price .

Tortured Soul Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Their coffee sucks. I won't miss them at all. However here you could close down 6000 and there would only be two on every corner instead of three. Sounds stupid to the rest of you, but the Starbucks nearest to me (in Manhattan, living without a car) closed. Now, instead of two blocks, I have to walk six to get to one. So yeah, it does matter. There was a Slate story that showed, in terms of caffeine, Starbucks was the best value.

Yeah but it's summer, so that means four more blocks of great scenery. Gotta look on the bright side.
