ieatcrayonz
Did anyone see this? I just did recently. I know it won some awards and thought the acting was great. It was sad to see all of the things that happened. The naive nature of the main character really got him into trouble with Amin. Even though he was a dumb kid you have to give him credit for one thing. At the very start of the movie he graduates and decides he wants to explore and live somewhere outside of Scotland. So he spins a globe and shuts his eyes and says "the first place I point is where I go.....the first place I point I go." At this point, he shows some wisdom, counter to the film's theme, because he points to Canada and smartly spins again. I think the overall point of the movie was "Uganda was bad, but things can always be worse".
